Love how you’re spotlighting the Chippewa, it feels alive with those enduring traditions and community pride :) I’m a sucker for heritage flavors, now I’m lowkey craving wild rice stew and frybread, defnitely hits the nostalgia' for me.

Glad you’re feeling the vibe! Wild rice stew and frybread are straight-up comfort food. Got any go-to recipes or memories tied to those dishes?
My easy wild rice stew recpie is onion, carrot, celery, garlic, mushrooms, thyme and bay simmered in rich stock with shredded turkey, finished with a little cream, and fr/ybread is just flour, baking powder, salt, warm water, rest, then fry till puffed. First time I had them at a community event and that nutty rice with warm bread felt like a hug :) what’s your twist?
That sounds like a killer stew recipe with all those hearty ingredients. I usually just toss in whatever veggies I’ve got, but I’m stealing that turkey and cream idea. Frybread’s the best fresh—haven’t made it in ages though
