There's this phenomenon in crypto I call Bagholder Derangement Syndrome (BDS).
Basically, an investor buys a heavy bag of a crypto based on a set of assumptions: XYZ attributes are the future, and any crypto with them will do amazingly.
Things don't work out. Either the price stagnates, adoption doesn't happen, hype does, whatever. Over time, they don't challenge their base assumptions, or reevaluate why those assumptions may not have applied to their investment.
Instead, they develop BDS.
With BDS, they fixate on a single, tiny, largely irrelevant factor, and make it out in their mind to be the one crucial thing that hamstrung their favorite project.
Whether it's a coin emission schedule tweak, whether a staked system has slashing or not, miners not censoring data transactions on a financial chain, the unit of account being too big, that one thing is entirely responsible for everything bad that happened.
👏👏👏👏
You analyze it so well that even a beginner in crypto can understand it so perfectly, indeed what you talked about is exactly what most people do and on a daily basis.
