What would you have done??

How would you respond to this if you were in my shoes? Actually, this was not me directly but a flatmate, but I was just wondering if I was the one it happened to, what would I have done? This is a question I have been asking myself ever since this incident happened. There are levels to things; I think you will agree with me on this, and music to some people can come across as noise, but to others they will embrace it.

But what if, in a situation where you are playing music, you have this neighbor who complains about you playing your music because he doesn't like the kind of music you play? Music is meant to be enjoyed by all and sundry, but can good music be a noise, and can music just be eradicated from those who love it?

I think the answer to this is no. Actually, to my own best knowledge, not everyone has the right to enjoy the music you play, but now going to the person's door steps and telling them to switch off their music is nothing to talk about because the music is not to satisfy anyone but the ones playing it.

It got to a point where I couldn't hold the noise coming from the neighborhood, and I had to go outside to interfere because both of them were my friends and I didn't want to go, so they wouldn't think I was taking sides with anyone. So long as the person playing his or her music is not doing it to disturb the neighborhood, I think no one now has the right to tell the person to stop the music.

The fact that you don't like it does not mean others will also not like it, and you can do what you like in your closet and no one will complain. Also, these songs the guy plays are something most people like, and sometimes we do tell him to play a song for us because we love his song collections. No one can be angry with music because it is just our way of life.

Music is fun; music is life; music is everything you could think of. Even those who don't know music still vibe to it when they listen to good music. Now, as it is, what would you have done if you were in the person's shoes??
