The Power of Rehearsal: How Consistency Brings Out the Best in a Musician.
One of the things that makes music valuable to us and meaningful to us is when you do music with all your heart and you stay consistent about it. Many times a lot of things or people talk about how they become flops in music, especially playing instruments, but one thing to forget to know is that as far as you are able to read a book daily to get information from it, so also is it important for every musician to always take rehearsal seriously. One of the things I have come to understand is that rehearsal, or rehearsing, brings out the best in us when we play music.
Well, to some people, they might say when they are not or when they have learned something for some time and they left it alone after some time, it becomes easier for them to do that thing. But sometimes this is not always applicable to music because one thing I have come to discover is that when we are learning something new, we tend to listen to it and try to score it. If you would eventually get a result or not, then after trying and you find out that you were unable to get the results you wanted, then you can leave it for some time and let it rest before you get back to it.
This is an idea I have been using for over a year now because most times when you play music on an instrument and you notice that you are sounding the same on every occasion, you might feel you are not really putting in much effort as it is supposed to be, and then you need to learn something new. Aside from the fact that we have to be current and up to the task in every aspect of music, we still need to be sure that we are learning the right thing to add to our musical style. Because music is not just about you playing for people to hear, but it is also about if you are playing the right thing that aligns with the music at the period of time.
There are a lot of musicians out there with different approaches to music depending on the style and what they are presenting. So as a musician, you must be so diverse and have the sense that you must be very prepared for any occasion at all. A musician can be called upon at any time to grace an occasion with music, and then you gather the other musicians and you go out to showcase what you have got. After doing a performance at the event, it won't speak well if no one is giving you an accolade for what you have done because if you have impressed people or gotten the mind and heart of people, they will surely appreciate it.
As a musician, we should not always say we are ready at all times. Instead, we should be very prepared and have a strong sense of understanding about music and terms before going out to showcase ourselves to the world because people are watching, and most of the time it is the fault people are looking for. So we should not let that happen by any chance. Music is the best thing that has ever happened to the world at large, and we should embrace it in good faith.
