Early morning at the port
Early morning at the port
Good Morning, today I will share a few shots from an Early morning visit to the Port here in New Bedford, Primarily of commercial fishing boatsm, which is a big business here in New Bedford, I did read somewhere it is one if not the busiest fishing port in the country
While the exact number fluctuates, it's estimated that between 300 and 500 commercial fishing vessels are based in or utilize the Port of New Bedford at any given time. Some sources state that over 500 commercial scallopers and fishermen are based in the port, with as many as 150 additional vessels using the port at any given time
THe morning i took these it was a foggy kind of moody Morning, but still made for what I think are some cool shots
Starting with this one where the fishing net and buoys on the back of this boat caught my eye

now you may wonder, or maybe not but I did wonder what do they catch and found out this
Commercial fishermen in New Bedford, MA primarily catch sea scallops, ocean quahog, Atlantic surf clam, haddock, American lobster, Northern shortfin squid, and monkfish, according to multiple sources. While they don't catch the most popular seafood in the US, like shrimp, their landings of scallops, monkfish, lobster, cod, and oysters are significant. New Bedford is the #1 fishing port in the US by fish landings value, with sea scallops being a major contributor

.Good morning, Mr. @tattoodjay
This port is impressive, a very good commercial activity.
What beautiful photographs! I love how colorful they are; the lights look gorgeous.
Have a beautiful day.
thanks for all your support it is truly appreciated
I was going to say, those sound like some pretty obscure fish to me, but I don't eat a lot of seafood anyway. I've had Haddock before and lobster, but none of the other stuff I don't think.
I think I have tried most of them, but most only once, I am not a big fan of fish food eaither, although we do have haddock maybe once a week breaded these days trying to eat healthier
Yeah, I hear that!
What beautiful photographs! The sky is also looks so beautiful😍

All of your shots are great, but I especially like the third from top to bottom.
I think it really stands out, as you captured well the dramatic atmosphere at the port.

Nice shots, that's a nice foggy morning. I love scallops, monk fish, cod, lobsters... Lots of good seafood to be had there. Can you buy it fresh by the docks?
The fog adds a nice element of gloom to the boats. Not an easy life being a fisherman...
OHh yeah working on these boats must be such hard work
There is a Market near the port, i havent bene there myself, but a family member picked up for us once sad to say I am not a huge fan of fish
Amazing Night Shots, as always, great Post

They catched so many seafoods. Neither of them I try. And you took amazing photos - the surroundings looks calm.
