A mono Monday in Buttonwood Park
A mono Monday in Buttonwood Park
Good Morning, I will be starting the week as I tend to do with a few Mono shots.
I went with some shots from a walk in Butonwood Park today, I thought of it as it is snowing here this morning as I prepare this post, and when the snow finishes and gives a nice coating in the park it will probably look so beautiful.
but not sure, well fairly certain I will not get out for a photo walk to experience it, looks like it will snow on and off all day and the temps today and tomorrow will stay below freezing point, far to cold for me to be out and about in.
I promised my wife a couple of years ago that I would not go out for photo walks if the temp was below 45F which is about 7C I believe, and when i went out when it was cooler than that I had a bad habit of getting a chest infection.
and since I have stuck to that, and I hope I am not tempting fate by saying this , i have not had a chest infection,
NOw i only visited the park a couple of times this year, my favorite spot was walking around the pond, but for most of this year they have bene doing repair work ad upgrades around the pond, making it not good for walking in that area. however I did visit the Zoo ad few times and often after exploring the zoo I would take a walk around other areas of the park and that's when I got these shots
These shots are mostly walking around the outside of the park, which is a popular spot for people to walk. Whenever I drive by there during the day I see many people walking there

However, funnily enough, not at the time I took these shots, I just noticed there is not one person in virew in these shots
this is the Holocaust memorial
The Holocaust Memorial in Buttonwood Park was designed by University of Massachusetts Dartmouth art professor Peter London. Erected in May 1998 on Rockdale Avenue near the corner of Hawthorn Street, it was the dream of Abraham Landau, the Holocaust survivor who survived 13 concentration and labor camps. Mr. Landau had been a resident of New Bedford, with his wife, Frieda, and family, since 1950. He died in 2000

Hello dear friend @tattoodjay
It's lovely to watch the snowfall from our window, while staying warm. You're doing the right thing by staying indoors on very cold days; keep warm.
What beautiful monochrome shots!
Excellent photos!
Have a great day!

Sorry, I love the photos, but I really just came here to see how your daughter in law was doing?
Thanks Mate, yes I forgot to do an update yesterday
She was a lot better yesterday, more awake and coherent, but still very weak, one arm has swollen up and the other is damaged from all the ivs and such so they put a PIC central line in yesterday evening,
She cannot talk much but is wanting out so shows how much better she is, but she will be frustrated in they put in the central line I think its clear they do not seeing her getting out for a few days
she once stable will need to be seen by specialist about her liver, which the Doctor says is very bad and she may well need a transplany but that will be the specialists call
Ugh, that's horrible, but at least they are getting some answers. I am sorry your family is going through this.
She is being taken good care of and we will all have to work with her to ensure she follows up and takes care of herself
IF I dont get around to it again beforehand wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas
That is good! Thank you and I wish you and your family an amazing Christmas as well!
Thanks appreciated, will be a quiet one for us, but I think we all got our Christmas wish with Jeanne our Daughter in Law doing better
It ended up being pretty quiet for me too...
Majestic statues...
Surviving 13 camps is quite a feat😂😂
Landau must've been very lucky..
Good day, Mr. @tattoodjay
You're doing the right thing by keeping your promise to your wife not to walk in the cold.
Stay warm while it's snowing there.
Beautiful shots!
yes indee dit drives me nuts somedays but health has to be the priority
Nice job on the photo editing there today! I hope the temp isn't too bad out there today. That first one is a nice shot of the path through the trees, it's pretty. That second one is processed to the point it almost looks painted, pretty cool! That third one only has one fault, the cars are far too new! It looks like you should be seeing some old Packard's driving around. Last one is nice too!
I hope things are getting better for your daughter in law!
thanks, it is cool this morning, got my steps inside today
Daughte rin Law is improving, more cohenrent and aware of what is going on, she cannot talk much but enough to let us know what she needs, and also what she wants which is to be home by Christmas, she gets frustrated when told thats very unlikely, especially since lats evening they put a central PIC line in as her arms are beaten up by all the drips, and they d not do that unless they think your going be there for a few more days
Aparently her live is in bad shape and may need a transplant, but that will be up to the specialist to advice, for now there just trying to get her more stable
