Part 1/3:

The Rise of Drone-Powered Cattle Herding

Remote cattle herding has long been a challenging task, historically requiring the use of animals like dogs or horses. In recent years, motorbikes and buggies have been added to the herder's toolkit. However, a new development is set to revolutionize the industry - the use of drones.

An Australian firm called Sky Kelpy has demonstrated the effectiveness of drones in remote cattle herding. This technology was showcased at a cattle exhibition in Australia called Beef 2024, where the company proved that drones alone can be used to remotely herd stock animals, potentially drastically reducing the costs and effort involved.

Part 2/3:

Sky Kelpy's system utilizes a remote drone docking station, which ensures that the drones waste no flight time getting to work. This can be a game-changer on large farms and estates, where the ability to quickly deploy drones can make a significant difference.

"High-definition cameras and easy piloting make drones a real tool for today's herders," the company states.

The advantages of using drones for cattle herding are numerous. Firstly, they eliminate the need for animals or vehicles, reducing the overall costs and maintenance requirements. Drones can also access areas that may be difficult or dangerous for human herders to reach, improving the efficiency and safety of the operation.

Part 3/3:

Moreover, drones can be equipped with advanced sensors and cameras, allowing herders to monitor the herd's behavior and health in real-time. This data can be used to make more informed decisions, optimize the herding process, and even detect potential issues before they escalate.

As the technology continues to evolve, the integration of drones into cattle herding operations is likely to become increasingly widespread. This innovative approach not only streamlines the process but also opens up new possibilities for the industry, paving the way for a more efficient and sustainable future in livestock management.

Drones are going to make things so easy the only fear I have is that drones are one of the most effective weapons. But tech is a tool, it's who uses it that determines the effect

Delivery industry will change as drones get used more

The double edge sword of technology...both positive and negative.

And drones are already weaponized by governments.

The delivery of products is probably one of the most beneficial use cases for drones. Also doing things such as inspections on airplanes, as an example, instead of sending a human up there.

the airplane idea is brilliant. It's less risky if drones do it instead of people
