The "flippening" is when Ethereum might overtake Bitcoin in market cap. It's a big deal in crypto circles since Bitcoin's always been the top dog. Some think ETH's utility could push it past BTC someday

Are there any estimates or forecasts provided as to when that might happen? Can you find some people or analysts that publicly stated when they could think the flippening could happen?

Some analysts have thrown out predictions for the flippening. Back in 2021, experts on Business Insider and The Armchair Trader speculated it could happen by 2022 or soon after. Obviously, it hasn't yet, but many still see ETH catching up eventually

What is the fundamental reasons given for the belief in the flippening?

Give it to me in list form.

Here's why some believe in the flippening:

  • Ethereum's smart contracts enable more use cases like DeFi and NFTs
  • ETH's transition to Proof of Stake is more energy-efficient
  • Higher transaction volume and developer activity on Ethereum
  • Potential for faster growth with scaling upgrades like sharding
