Crypto’s obsession with surveillance and compliance won’t disappear overnight, but the next wave is bigger than policing humans.
The internet was built for people. The next internet will be built for AI agents moving, requesting, and acting at machine speed.
That changes everything about identity. If an agent asks for data or value, systems will need to know whether it’s legitimate, authorized, and safe.
Banks were never built for agents. Stablecoins, tokenization, and blockchain-based verification are far better suited to a machine-native economy.
Passwords and human logins are already looking old. Immutable identity and onchain proof can become the trust layer for the agentic web.
The core challenge is simple: separate trusted agents from malicious ones without turning the whole internet into a surveillance dragnet.
