The Ladder Of Kindness
The breeze from the river was just too cold in the day with broad light. Everyone living close to the shore wearing their jacket just to enclose some heat in them. Adams has been the only one without something to cover his body, not to owing that this moment was a good moment written boldly in the sky and everywhere in the sea shore. He came out so sad and his face looking just like someone who wants to be drowned in tears. “How could life abandon me this way? What is my offence that made life rejected me this way?” Those questions struck his mind and he was stocked up searching for a lost answer to those questions.

Walking just like an elephant even though he was so slim to and from across the river shore was just his daily routine. He walked past a couple sitting by the river bank chilling up with each other with a glass of palm wine. “Hey young man! “ The moment was just too clear to understand the nature of the passing breeze. He kept observing if he was the one the lady was throwing words to. He looked around, but came to the realization that he was the only one in that distance to the couple.
“Hay, Madam!” Adam tried to look away while answering. He looked at himself critically, as he was not fit to be called by those couple.
“Could it be that she was just talking normally to herself or to her husband or even to someone on the other side of the phone?” His mind raised so high as the lady was holding a phone close to her ears. Anyone who sees her would not doubt the fact that she was talking to someone on the other side of the phone.
“Please, come closer”, Adams took some deep breaths as he moved closer to the couple.
“Are you from this town?” Adams was not too clear on what to respond. He was utterly lost and was even lost in thoughts before meeting this couple.
“Oh, me, you mean me?” Adams tried hard to look around, still wanting to be certain.
“Oh yes, you”, there was a moment of joy undermining the reason he was whispered.
“Could this be the moment I was waiting for?” He was so confident of his dreams coming to a reality that day. “I guess, this will be your fateful day”, the lady looked at his appearance before speaking out.
“Young boy, feel free and don't be scared. We are just here to chill out our heads, and we can't go back to our home today as it's so far away from here”, Adams looked at the husband and did not wait a bit before replying: “what do I have to offer you?”
“Yes, you have to offer us a place to stay tonight”, the lady was so optimistic that Adams would help them out.
“My place is not so fancy, and I only have a small-sized foam”.
"We can manage since there is no place to lodge around.
They stayed until nightfall before going to Adam's abode. It was just a small single room with the nature of someone who was suffering.
“Please, you have to take this token from our hearts”, he was given a brown box with no one knowing what was inside of it. At some point he wawantes to reject the gifts, but then the couple pleaded for him not to reject their offer. He tried to look at the box, but it was so rough with no sign of good things inside of it.
“Thanks Madam and Sir”, the way he prostrated showed a sign of respect even though he has no idea of what was in the old-looking box.
He bid them farewell as they left.
He looked the box again and again and was not ready to open it. At some point, he made up his mind to draw the box closer. He opened the box and what he found made him overwhelmed. He ran out expecting to still have them around. He walked smiling and carried away by the greatness and success he has in his hands. His face was filled with joy and a moment of freedom from poverty. Gold and countless dollars were in that box, which gave his a great joy to move him to the realm of success. "Now I know that kindness supercede all things and in all ways and realm of life", Adams shouted aloud as he jumped up in his four-cornered room.
Good one from such a perspective. I buy the idea you dished. Thanks.
So the box was filled with gold and dollars. It must be a reason of great joy for him.
