Pride Cut Down

Gina has been a good friend of Alicia since childhood, and they both know how to relate with each other to the fullest. Even with the pride in Alicia, Gina still managed to stay by her side without running away. She had taken plenty of insults from Alicia, which no friend can take.

“I have a guy that will come to me next week. We met online”, Alicia was so bold and happy that she has met her heart after three consecutive heartbreaks. Daniel was a man with humility but got humiliated by Alicia, which made him took heel without saying goodbye. She belied he had just passion for her money, but not for love.
“I Hope you will not chase this one away, similar to the way you chased Daniel out of your life?” Gina asked being a kind friend.
“Who are you to give me advice? Don't try me”, Alicia was angry just like usual.
“Oh, I'm sorry, you own your life, and you can do as you wish without anyone advising you”, Gina apologized.
“Better and please, you can take your leave now”, Alicia said as Gina rushed out and left her.

“Hello, Alicia”, Henry was a cute rich guy who only came in disguise. He pretended to be broke, whereas was from a royal home. He just didn't want to disclose his identity, but was out searching for true love.
“Hello, Henry”, Alicia replied, smiling at the cute guy who sat beside her. Even though Henry came in disguise, he still looked handsome and fresh.
Meanwhile, Alicia has been a proud girl just because of the money she has, which has made good men coming and running away from her without looking backwards. The last one was Daniel, who came with the mind of getting married to her, but eventually, Alicia's pride threw him away from her side.

“Can you, pass me the glass?” Alicia asked hastily.
Henry was shocked to see the same character that threw him on the street searching for love.
“Can something be possibly wrong somewhere? Why are my always running into ladies with this kind of character? Will this be my path for life, or is my destined to marry someone who has this character in her?” Henry was asking himself questions deep in him.
He took a deep breath and pondered in his mind, “for the first day, I had got to know her character. It ends here”.

“Here”, he passed the glass.
“Can you pour me a drink?” She said yet again.
“Alright”, Henry replied.
“You're supposed to stand while pouring the drink being the first time of meeting me”, Alicia was so full of herself.
“Oh, I did not know that there is a culture that states that a man should stand for a woman while pouring a drink”, Henry said while standing. He poured her the drink.
“Can I have my seat now, Madam?” He asked politely.

When they were done chatting and drinking, Gina bounced in and met them in the bar. “Oh, I only came here to buy some drinks for my man”, Gina said.
“A woman just said that from her mouth? And this lady happened to be Alicia's friend?” Henry imagined.
“Meet my man, the one I had told you about”, Alicia said as they both exchanged pleasantries.

“Your friend is a nice lady. I think she respects her guy so much”, Henry was expecting a reply from Alicia which finally dropped.
“That's why she's been used by her man. I can't be used by any man because I have what I think a woman cannot have”.
“Yes, you are right, you have money, but do you think money can replace love?” He asked.
“I think we are done here” Alicia replied.
“Yes, we are done here”, Henry called his guards and convoy. As they arrived, Henry made a statement that sank some sense in Alicia's head: “you should work on your character. You just lost a prince of this community”.
Alicia was shocked and went on her knees begging, but it was far too late.
“What could have gone wrong with me?” Richard left after proposing to me, Timmy also left the first day we met, Daniel left without saying goodbye, and now, this one who happened to be a great man with respect is leaving, giving me a sign of what my character is. I think something is wrong somewhere and no one is telling me the truth", she ran home.

Gina, who had left the bar, took a stroll to Alicia's house just to hear the latest gist in town. She met Alicia, crying bitterly.
“Do I have a problem?” Alicia looked at Gina and asked.
“The only problem you have is pride. You even resent me sometimes, just because of your nature. All your friends left you, leaving me behind just because of your pride. I'm just the type who doesn't listen to what you say sometimes, or else I would have left just like them”, Gina opened up.

“What do I do to take this pride off me”, Alicia asked.
“Just bring yourself low to the common man and stop shouting to those out there? Can't you see the way I behave to my man? He's my love and I can respect him and so does he”, Gina advised.

Alicia found out where her problem was coming from and changed immediately.

I am glad that at the end of the story Alicia realized and changed. Honestly, if I as a teenage girl were friends with Alicia, it would not last long. No one can live with an arrogant person.

your story is very good and emotional.
