Photos and Thoughts: The Vintage Cars of the 2025 Mille Miglia

These photographs depict some vintage cars. All of these cars participated in the 2025 Mille Miglia.

Description
Below, I describe some of the cars you see in the photos, those for which I was able to find information. Unfortunately, I was unable to find information for the other cars.

Car Number 53
The red car with the number 53 is an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport.
This car was introduced in 1929, built to combine road use, sportiness, and competition. It is the evolution of the 6C 1500 designed by Vittorio Jano, one of the greatest engineers of the time.
The abbreviation 6C signified that it had a 6-cylinder engine.
The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport is one of the most legendary cars in the history of Italian motoring, a symbol of Alfa's golden years (late 1920s – early 1930s).
Its top speed was 150 km/h, a rather high speed for the 1930s.

*Car number 207
The Rosso Porpora car with number 207 was a Jaguar XK120 Roadster (open two-seater).
This car debuted in 1948 at the London Motor Show.
The name indicated its speed; XK120 meant it could reach a speed of 120 mph, or approximately 193 km/h. The engine displacement was 3,442 cm³.
The extremely long hood and vertical oval grille with chrome strips were the hallmarks of this car.

*Car number 131
The black car with the number 131 is an MG TA Midget. Its long hood and rearward cockpit distinguished this MG, produced between 1936 and 1939. This car represents the design of pre-war MGs.

Car number 82
The white car with the number 82 is a Bentley 4.5 Litre Open Tourer. This car was produced from 1927 to 1931 and was recognizable by its large chrome headlights. Another characteristic of this car was its very long hood with vertical vents.

Thoughts
These cars are a kind of four-wheeled memory. As they whizz past us, we see history, old-time technology, and past sporting exploits pass by. I believe that a classic car belongs not only to its owner, but also to history.

In queste fotografie sono ritratte alcune auto d’epoca. Tutte queste auto hanno partecipato alla 1000 miglia del 2025.

Descrizione
Qui di seguito descrivo alcune delle vetture che vedete in foto, quelle di cui sono riuscito a trovare le informazioni. Purtroppo per le atre autovetture non sono riuscito a trovare informazioni.

Auto numero 53
L’autovettura rossa con il numero 53 è una Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport.
Quest’auto fu presentata nel 1929, costruita per coniugare uso stradale, sportività e competizione. È l’evoluzione della 6C 1500 progettata da Vittorio Jano, uno dei più grandi ingegneri dell’epoca.
La sigla 6C significava che aveva un motore a 6 cilindri.
L’Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport è una delle vetture più leggendarie della storia dell’automobilismo italiano, simbolo dell’Alfa degli anni d’oro (fine anni ’20 – inizi ’30).
La velocità massima era di 150 km/h, una velocità piuttosto elevate per gli anni ’30

*Auto numero 207
L’autovettura colore Rosso Porpora con il numero 207 era una Jaguar XK120 Roadster (open Two Seater).
Questa Auto debutta nel 1948 al salone di Londra.
Nel nome era indicata la velocità, infatti XK120 significava che poteva raggiungere la velocità di 120 mph, cioè circa 193 km/h. La cilindrata era di 3.442 cm³
Il cofano lunghissimo e la calandra ovale verticale con listelli cromati erano il simbolo di questa macchina.

*Auto numero 131
L’auto nera con il numero 131 è una MG TA Midget. Cofano lungo e abitacolo arretrato distinguevano questa MG prodotta tra il 1936 ed il 1939. Questa auto rappresenta il design della MG prebelliche.

Auto numero 82
L'auto bianca con il numero 82 è una Bentley 4 ½ Litre Open Tourer. Quest’auto fu prodotta dal 1927 al 1931 ed era riconoscibile dai grandi fari cromati. L’altra caratteristica di questa macchina era il cofano lunghissimo con feritoie verticali.

Pensieri
Queste auto sono una sorta di ricordi a quattro ruote. Quando sfrecciano davanti a noi vediamo passare la storia, la tecnologia di un tempo e le vecchie imprese sportive. Io penso che un'auto d’epoca non appartenga solo al proprietario, ma anche alla storia.
