In logistica industriale si sente parlare della Sustainable Procurement, ma cosa è?
Il Sustainable Procurement, abbreviato a volte con SP, è definito come un approccio all'acquisto di beni e servizi che integra considerazioni sugli impatti economici, ambientali e sociali derivanti dalle scelte d'acquisto.
le caratteristiche principali e le finalità della Sustainable Procurement sono:
-Integrazione di criteri multidimensionali, ovvero, oltre ai tradizionali criteri economici, l'SP valuta l'impatto ambientale e sociale delle forniture.
-Obiettivi strategici. Le aziende adottano il Sustainable Procurement non solo per gestire i rischi ambientali, ma anche come leva per la valorizzazione del brand, l'attrazione di nuovi clienti e il consolidamento della reputazione presso gli stakeholder
-Parte di una Supply Chain Sostenibile: L'SP è un elemento cardine della catena di fornitura sostenibile, che mira a ridurre gli impatti lungo tutto il ciclo di vita dei prodotti e a razionalizzare i consumi riducendo gli sprechi.
Risposta alla pressione normativa e di mercato. Vuol dire che l'adozione è spinta dalle nuove direttive UE e dalla crescente sensibilità dei consumatori, che considerano il rispetto dell'ambiente un valore aggiunto del prodotto.

Possiamo dire che l'implementazione del Sustainable Procurement può avvenire attraverso due percorsi complementari di enorme importanza: Il Product Drive ed il Supplier Driven. Qui di seguito provo a spiegare questi percorsi.

Product driven
Approccio guidato dal prodotto: consiste nell'introdurre criteri di preferibilità ambientale direttamente nelle specifiche tecniche, ad esempio richiedendo certificazioni come Ecolabel o la Dichiarazione Ambientale di Prodotto (EPD).

Supplier driven
Questo approccio è guidato dal fornitore. Questo percorso si basa sulla valutazione e il monitoraggio dei fornitori in base a parametri di sostenibilità, integrandoli nei processi di selezione e qualificazione
Possiamo dire che l’implementazione della Sustainable Procurement avviene come segue. In sintesi, un'azienda leader integra gli obiettivi di sostenibilità nella propria strategia di business, collabora attivamente con i fornitori e sollecita il mercato verso un'offerta sempre più "verde".

La certificazione EMAS
Si è sentito parlare della certificazione EMAS, ma forse a volte non si comprende bene cosa sia.
Innanzitutto precisiamo che EMAS è l’acronimo di Eco-Management and Audit Scheme. La certificazione EMAS è un Sistema di Gestione Ambientale a carattere volontario istituito dall'Unione Europea.
Questa certificazione ha le seguenti caratteristiche principali:

L'EMAS è uno strumento rivolto a organizzazioni di ogni settore (industriale e dei servizi) che desiderano gestire il proprio impatto ambientale secondo standard elevati. Il suo obiettivo primario è promuovere il miglioramento continuo delle prestazioni ambientali.

Potremmo anche affermare che il cuore della certificazione è il SGA, definito come l'insieme della struttura organizzativa, responsabilità, prassi e procedure necessarie per definire e attuare la politica ambientale di un'azienda. Per essere efficace, il sistema richiede che il personale sia consapevole delle proprie responsabilità e delle ripercussioni ambientali del proprio lavoro.

Cosa è ECOLABEL
L’Ecolabel è il marchio di certificazione ambientale dell’Unione Europea destinato a prodotti e servizi che garantiscono un ridotto impatto ambientale lungo il loro intero ciclo di vita.
La definizione ed il simbolo sono stati definiti nel 1992 dalla Regolamento CEE n. 880/92.

Posso concludere dicendo che il Sustainable Procurement (abbreviato in SP) è soprattutto una necessità strategica e normativa. Oggi il Sustainable Procurement non è più una scelta puramente opzionale, ma una necessità dettata dalla pressione normativa e dall'evoluzione del mercato. L'SP, a lungo termine, permette una riduzione dei costi operativi (attraverso l'efficienza energetica e la riduzione degli sprechi) e agisce come un potente strumento di mitigazione del rischio legale e reputazionale.
