Introduction
This week's theme asks us to tell ourselves through music. Music is culture, it is part of the history of a people. In a people, technology, art, the social system and also music evolve.

Is music a physical quantity?
I say YES… am I crazy?!.. maybe, but let me explain
The difference in electric potential, or voltage, is a physical quantity and makes electrons move in a wire.
So I say, since music moves our feelings like tension moves electrons, why can't we say that music is a physical quantity? Since we can't say that my statement is false, then I consider it true.

But let's get back to the central theme of the contest
Below we see in detail which are the songs that have accompanied my life.

The 70s
I was born in 1973, my father listened to music a lot and had a lot of cassettes. He made me listen to Bob Dylan, Queen and other music from the 70s. The song I liked the most was Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver.
A song that I started listening to when I was very young, I already liked it at 6 years old and at the age of 50 I still like it.
I remember that as a child I didn't understand English, but I still hummed it and it became "teicmi om, cauntri roods"... I didn't know how to write it, but I still repeated the words of the chorus of that song released in 1971 that today is one of the Country-Pop songs that have remained in the history of modern music.
For the record, John Denver was an American singer and composer of country and folk songs who died tragically in a plane crash at 53 years old.

The 80s
The 80s were exaggerated for music! In so many musical genres we saw excellent artists emerge.
However, if I had to name a name from those years, forced to choose one, I would choose Nik ... Nik who? But Nik Kershaw, an artist of almost unique musical genius. Nik Kershaw is a British singer-songwriter, guitarist and composer known worldwide for three musical masterpieces of the 80s..
The song of the 80s that I still love today came out in 1984. The name of the song is The Riddle, by Nik Kershaw.

The 90s
The 90s were exceptional years for Italy with 883, but on a large scale Eurodance became popular and invaded every disco. However, in the 90s, one of my favorite bands managed to make a musical masterpiece, perhaps the jangle pop song par excellence. I'm talking about one of the most famous British rock bands in the world... The Cure. One of those songs that despite having listened to it like a broken record I still haven't tired of, I'm talking about Friday I'm in Love, came out in 1992. Every time the intro of this song starts, a little joy instantly lights up in me, exactly as if it were Friday, even if it isn't.

The first decade of the new millennium for me is marked by the arrival of an American band that shocked me musically, I'm talking about The Killers. They were born as a band in 2001, they made masterpiece after masterpiece until they released a song in 2008 that is still today, as far as I'm concerned, the most beautiful dance-rock song ever written... I'm talking about HUMAN

Eeehh here there is really a lot of music buzzing around in my head from this decade, but the choice is very clear. This decade gave us what I consider the art-pop song par excellence. I'm talking about a song that came out in 2011, written, produced and sung by a Belgian-Australian artist... maybe some have not yet understood what song I'm talking about or even who I'm talking about. 2011, musically gave us Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye

2020
This decade is not over yet, but for me it has already left a very strong mark. Let me explain.
My favorite composers are Hans Zimmer, Joe Hisaishi and Ennio Morricone.
In 2020, one of these 3 giants of music left us, Ennio Morricone. The last song I leave is a memory to a composer of another level or perhaps from another planet. I greet everyone with this song by the Grand Master, Once Upon a Time in the West, a song by Morricone that is music that transforms into an embrace, a song that unites everyone and perhaps could also have the strength to unite our world with some other world. Maybe “Once Upon a Time in the West” is not even music, maybe it is something celestial. This song was written in 1968 and has always accompanied my life.

Introduzione
Il tema di questa settimana chiede di raccontare noi stessi in musica. La musica è cultura, fa parte della storia di un popolo. In un popolo si evolve la tecnologia, l’arte, il sistema sociale e anche la musica.
La musica è una grandezza fisica?
Io dico di SI… sono un pazzo?!.. può essere, ma fatemi spiegare
La differenza di potenziale elettrico, o tensione, è una grandezza fisica e fa muovere gli elettroni in un filo.
Allora io dico, visto che la musica fa muovere i nostri sentimenti come la tensione fa muovere gli elettroni, perché non possiamo dire che la musica è una grandezza fisica? Visto che non possiamo dire che la mia affermazione è falsa, allora io la ritengo vera.

Ma torniamo al tema centrale del contest
Qui di seguito vediamo nel dettaglio quali sono le canzoni che hanno accompagnato la mia vita.

Gli anni ‘70
Sono nato nel 1973, mio padre ascoltava molto la musica ed aveva tantissime musicassette. Mi faceva ascoltare Bob Dylan, i Qeen e altre musiche degli anni 70. Il brano che mi piaceva più di tutti era Take Me Home, Country Roads di John Denver.
Un brano che avevo iniziato ad ascoltare da piccolissimo, a 6 anni mi piaceva già e alla etá di 50 mi piace ancora.
Ricordo che da bambino non capivo l’inglese, ma la canticchiavo comunque e diventava “teicmi om, cauntri roods”... non sapevo come si scriveva, ma ripetevo comunque benino le parole del ritornello di quella canzone uscita nel 1971 che oggi è una delle canzoni Country-Pop rimaste nella storia della musica moderna.
Per la cronaca, John Denver era un cantante e compositore americano di canzoni country e folk che morì tragicamente in un incidente aereo a 53 anni.

Gli anni ‘80
Gli anni 80 per la musica sono stati esagerati! In tantissimi generi musicali abbiamo visto emergere artisti eccellenti.
Se peró dovessi fare un nome di quegli anni, sceglierne forzatamente uno, io scelgo Nik… Nik chi? Ma Nik Kershaw, un artista di una genialità musicale quasi unica. Nik Kershaw è un cantautore, chitarrista e compositore britannico noto in tutto il mondo per tre capolavori musicali degli anni 80..
Il brano degli anni 80 che adoro ancora oggi uscì nel 1984. Il nome del brano è The Riddle, proprio di Nik Kershaw.

Gli anni ‘90
Gli anni 90 sono stati anni eccezionali per l’Italia con gli 883, ma su larga scala spopolò l’Eurodance che invase qualsiasi discoteca. Però negli anni 90, una delle mie band preferite riuscì a fare un capolavoro musicale, forse il brano jangle pop per eccellenza. Sto parlando di una delle British rock band più famose al mondo… The Cure. Usci nel 1992 uno di quei brani che nonostante averlo ascoltato come un disco rotto non mi ha ancora stancato, sto parlando di Friday I’m in Love. Ogni volta che parte l'intro di questo brano si accende istantaneamente un po' di gioia in me, esattamente come se fosse venerdì, anche se non lo è.

Gli anni 2000
La prima decade del nuovo millennio per me è segnata dall’arrivo di una band americana che mi sconvolse musicalmente, sto parlando dei The Killers. Nacquero come band proprio nel 2001, fecero capolavori su capolavori fino a far uscire nel 2008 uno brano che è ancora oggi, per quanto mi riguarda, il brano dance-rock più bello mai stato scritto… sto parlando di HUMAN

Dal 2010 al 2020
Eeehh qui c’è davvero tanta musica che mi frulla in testa di questa decade, ma la scelta è chiarissima. Questa decade ci ha donato quello che io ritengo il brano art-pop per eccellenza. Sto parlando di un brano che uscì nel 2011, scritto, prodotto e cantato da un artista belga-australiano… forse alcuni non hanno ancora capito di che brano sto parlando e nemmeno di chi sto parlando. Il 2011, musicalmente ci regalò Somebody That I Used to Know di Gotye

il 2020
Questa decade non è ancora finita, ma per me ha già lasciato un segno fortissimo. Mi spiego meglio.
I miei compositori preferiti sono Hans Zimmer, Joe Hisaishi e Ennio Morricone.
Proprio nel 2020 ci ha lasciato uno di questi 3 giganti della musica, Ennio Morricone. L’ultimo brano che lascio è un ricordo ad un compositore di un altro livello o forse di un altro pianeta. Saluto tutti con questo brano del Gran Maestro, C’era una volta il west, brano di Morricone che è musica che si trasforma in un abbraccio, un brano che unisce tutti e forse potrebbe avere anche la forza di unire il nostro mondo con qualche altro mondo. Forse “C’era una volta il West” non è nemmeno musica, forse è qualcosa di celestiale. Questo brano è stato scritto nel 1968 ed accompagna da sempre la mia vita.
