The Rise of AI: Thriving as an Engineer in a Changing Landscape
The world is advancing so fast with technology, we have AI everywhere for almost everything, name it. Should we say for artistic drawing? or for virtual assistance? AI is making waves and doing a lot of things we would not have thought it would do a few years back.
And today, many people are afraid that if AI advances more, it would take over their jobs. And if AI can actually do that, who would not want to increase the efficiency of his work by including AI and sending off the less efficient human that he works with?
As for someone like me who is developing myself intro Software Engineering and Hardware Programming. I believe I have some skills that would keep me uphill no matter the advancement of AI technology.
Come to look at it? how is AI created? Software engineers actually create this AI technology and they also work in the advancement of this technology. Now imagine Ai wants to advance to having a physical structure, where AI would assist people in their homes with their chores. They would sure need an engineer who is into Hardware programming in making the physical structure and programming it to perform its desired function.
This is where my role would serve.
As every living thing needs a doctor, every machine or AI needs an engineer for servicing, building, and checking up. There is no way an AI can take this role from us because we built the AI and so therefore, this set of humans, I mean the engineers would surely be needed always in their advancement.
And even if I don't choose to be an Engineer, I believe for a fact that AI cannot take my job but instead give me a better job or role.
With the rate at which technology is rising and increasing, the advancement of AI. Not many people are following up, not many people are understanding the opportunities it gives, not many people have come to the realization of how to make use of AI.
There is a lot of value that can be created from this fact. A lot of people would want to know how and I can be the person to come up and impact this knowledge to them.
Even professional companies that are moving into incorporating AI in their work standards would need someone to teach them or lead someone with a better understanding of AI. If they lay off a person because AI does their job, then they would probably employ another person who has the knowledge of making use of this AI technology for better efficiency.
Let's look at the fact I don't want to work for a company and I want to work as a freelance. With my knowledge of AI, I can solve problems faster without having a full idea of how the problem is solved but how to tell AI to solve the problem.
In a fast-changing and developing society, the whole point to stay uphill is not loosing your value. Find something or someone that you can provide value to. No matter the changes made in a society there would still be areas that opportunities are left open to tap into.
I have told myself no matter the advancement in AI. it can never take my job and if it does, then it means I have a new job waiting for me in another field waiting for me.

That conclusion is it for me too, no matter how AI advances, it can never take my value because improving on myself is something I try to do everyday and that's the same thing the AI does too which makes it better for some companies than to hirer a human, hehe.
So many people are satisfied with how far they've developed and they don't see the need to upgrade their skills and this is why they will be dropped for AI. So all we should put in our minds is to always see the need to upgrade whatever skill it is we have as much as we can and no AI can take our place or value in the world.

There is one thing about having the feeling of arrival. The feeling of getting to the final point. It is actually the point where growth ends and the beginning of regression. People who don't see the need to constantly improve their skills based on the changes in their environment would mostly be affected by advancement in AI.
Exactly! Life will flash before their eyes at that point, hehe. Learning ends when we leave this world 🥵.

Indeed the world is getting advance every day but no matter how use AI is it can never do some things like a lawyer job, teacher job, hairdresser etc so the fact that they can work without getting tired is understandable but they need human to control them as well.
yeah... Now I am wondering how it would be taught in class by AI... the human conversation would not be there.
Self development should be a regular ritual inorder for one to remain relevant in the society. As the world changes, we need to change with it by adding personal values to ourselves. I agree with you that no matter the upgrade in AI, it will still require human to control it and you are already in the path. Can I still be relevant if Ai take over many things? I guess I need more self development, to remain relevant no matter the changes

The Artificial Intelligence can never be smarter than us because it is not human so we just gotta improve our skills
I stated in my entry that we can't stop AI from flourishing because we need it even though it hurts society at large.
I can guarantee that you are a valuable asset regardless of how much AI dominates the world. AI needs humans and you are building yourself on the right path by empowering yourself where it matters.
With software and hardware engineering, there is a lot you can achieve because even AI will depend on people like you to reach it potentials.
You're right. Instead of being worried about Ai getting your job done, find a way around Ai; it maybe how to use that same Ai to make your work better.
E.g there are sites incorporated with Ai for writing, sales funnel, websites creation and more; it is wiser to learn how to prompt these sites Ai to make your work better if one fall into any of the job category.
Ai was made to make life easier, it won't take the jobs of those who know how to use it to make their jobs easier.
Exactly my point. We made the AI, it will still depend on us for maintainance. So, how can it totally replace us when is depending on us even for the information it works with. Yes, also as an engineer, you will have a lot of role to play here.
