The End of an Era: Bidding Farewell to the Holidays....

Eras do come to an end indeed, and it is the era of holidays that has come to an end....
It's been holiday season for a while now starting from the closure of schools, leading into the long -anticipated Christmas celebration, and now, as we eagerly await the New Year festivities which invariably marks the official end of holidays . Like all good things, the era of holidays inevitably ends leaving us with cherished memories and the promise of a fresh start.

The exact timing of when holidays end varies depending on individual circumstances. For some, the transition is immediate, while for others, it's stretched out just a little longer. However, the holiday ends differently for everyone depending on whatever one is doing;

For students, the official end of their holidays is always determined by when the reopening dates of their schools comes up. As soon as the resumption date comes up with the resumption tests already kicking in, students will have no option but to go home and that marks the end of their own celebration.

For salaried workers, especially government employees, it's dependent on when the government official break ends, and work resumes.

For self-employed personnels, however, there is a certain flexibility as they enjoy the luxury of deciding when to return to work however indirectly affecting their businesses too.

The thoughts of returning to our daily routines can bring mixed emotions. On one hand, it brings a sense of comfort after the hectic stay and weeks of travels. On the other hand, it's not uncommon to feel nostalgic about the just well spent Christmas holiday. The beginning of new years however, often inspires hope and energy, making it easier to embrace the transition.

Personally, my holiday will be ending around January 5, 2025 because I fall under the category of government workers and we're meant to do our application before January 5. This means that any moment after welcoming the new year might usher me out from the village.

Picture Is Mine

Thinking about it alone makes me not want any part of it to end at all because of the wonderful experiences I've shared already with my long time friends and my cousins who has been away for so long that we couldn't see each other.. it just feels like rewinding the calendar dates again so that I could start all over again, continue the merriments nonstop lol but then, like all things , the holidays too just come to an end. As much as I wish to hold on to these moments , there is also a sense of anticipation for the year ahead.

In summary, holidays are less about the specific calendar dates and more about mindset they inspire; packing up and travelling back to our routine life is also an opportunity for us to take the joy of holidays into our everyday life.
Wishing you a prosperous New Year in no distant time

Thanks for reading and have a nice day ahead 👍

Lol, having to decide when you want to resume is a big flex but one but not be too relaxed because without work there wouldn't be money.

I wish christmas holiday can hold for a month, I don't want to resume this early.

Indeed, it's a big flex my bro but we have to do what we ought to do.

I also don't want to resume this early for real, but then, we just have to start and say goodbye then cherish the memories

That's interesting, I really missed traveling this year. All the same, I enjoyed my holiday and I can't wait to get back to work.
