Hello to everyone in this community and to everyone who reads my posts! Let's talk about books. I always do, but I usually choose those from my favorite genres, which are fantasy and romance. I want to talk about other types of books, not the ones I usually review. This time, I wanted to step outside my comfort zone a bit and decided to read a book that's been getting a lot of buzz: The Very Catastrophic Visit to the Zoo, written by Swiss author Joël Dicker.

¡Hola a todos en esta comunidad y a todos los que leen mis publicaciones! Hablemos de libros, siempre lo hago, pero generalmente escojo los de mis géneros favoritos que son fantasía y romance. Quiero hablar de otro tipo de libros y no los que acostumbro a reseñar. En esta ocasión quise salirme un poco de lo común y decidí leer un libro que está sonando mucho, se trata de La muy catastrófica visita al zoo, escrita por el autor Suizo, Joël Dicker.

Josephine is a girl who lives with her parents, obviously, and after a visit to the zoo that went very wrong, she begins to recount the catastrophic outing she had with her class. The entire book is told in the first person from the girl's perspective, but Josephine is not just any girl, she is a special girl, and all her classmates attend a special school. The story within the story begins when an accident occurs at their school and all the children have to be moved to a regular school. From that moment on, a series of unfortunate events unfold, leading to the very catastrophic visit to the zoo.

This book deals with the role of parents and teachers in our society, when the education of our children slips out of our hands, and we put what society wants for them first. Although the protagonists of the story are special children, the story does not focus on them and the disabilities that people might believe they have. Contrary to what society thinks, I believe that in the difficult environment in which we grew up, they have understood everything in a simpler way, without any pretensions.

Josephine es una niña que vive con sus padres, obviamente, y después de una visita al zoo que salió muy mal y empieza a relatar el catastrófico paseo que hizo con su clase. Todo el libro se cuenta en primera persona desde los ojos de la niña, pero Josephine no es cualquier niña, es una niña especial, y todos sus compañeros de clase asisten a un colegio especial. La historia dentro de la historia empieza cuando ocurre un accidente en su colegio y tienen que mover a todos los niños al colegio normal y desde ese momento se desencadenan una serie de desafortunados eventos que llevan a La muy catastrófica visita al zoo.

Este libro trata del rol de los padres y de los maestros en nuestra sociedad, cuando se escapan de las manos la educación de nuestros hijos y ponemos en principio lo que la sociedad quiere sobre ellos. Aunque los protagonistas de la historia son niños especiales, la historia no se enfrasca en ellos y las discapacidades que creen las personas que podrían creer. Todo lo contrario a lo que la sociedad piensa, considero que en el difícil entorno en el que crecimos, ellos lo han entendido todo de una manera más sencilla, sin ninguna pretensión.

The narrative of this story, as explained by the author himself, is designed so that everyone can read it, from a 7-year-old child to a 120-year-old senior citizen. It is a novel with elements of mystery, as they try to discover who damaged the school. With the help of one of the children's grandmothers, they unravel the story with the help of elements from crime fiction, which is the author's main genre. It is entertaining, dynamic, and very funny. I found myself laughing out loud because there are some very funny situations amid the chaos created by the principal of the regular school and the children. The characters are adorable and quite memorable, from the bullies to the sweetest ones.

I think the writer's intention to create something to get us away from our mobile devices was completely successful. In fact, in a world where books are either very complex or very commercial, there is no room for true literature, the kind that is meant to entertain. This book in particular could easily be used in a classroom setting and analyzed.

That said, I loved the novel. I recommend it. If you see it out there, buy it. It's a quick read, very simple. I tried to find the original language in which it was written, and although the author writes in French, I couldn't find this version. This makes me think he wrote it in Spanish, although I could be wrong. The novel was just released in April, so it's very new. I hope you enjoyed my review. See you later!

La narrativa de esta historia, tal cual lo explicó el mismo escritor, está hecha para que todo el mundo pueda leerlo, desde un pequeño niño de 7 años hasta un anciano de 120. Es una novela con tintes de misterio, ya que intentan descubrir quién dañó la escuela. Con ayuda de la abuela de uno de los niños, van desentrañando la historia con ayuda de los elementos que componen la novela negra, que es el género principal que escribe el autor. Es entretenida, dinámica y muy graciosa. me encontré a mí misma lanzándome unas grandes carcajadas porque hay algunas situaciones muy divertidas dentro del caos generado por el director del colegio normal y los niños. Los personajes son adorables y bastante memorables, desde los más bullies hasta los más tiernos.

Creo que la intención del escritor con respecto a crear algo para despegarnos de los dispositivos móviles, fue completamente lograda. De hecho, en un mundo en el que los libros son, o muy complejos, o muy comerciales, no hay espacio para la verdadera literatura, esa que está hecha para entretener. Este libro en específico podría ser utilizado sin ningún tipo de problemas en un aula de clases y ser utilizada para analizarla.

Dicho esto, me encantó la novela. Se las recomiendo. Si la ven por allí, cómprenla. Se lee en una sentada, es muy sencilla. Lo que intenté conseguir fue el idioma original en la que está escrita, y a pesar de que el autor escribe en francés, no conseguí esta versión. Lo que me hace pensar que la escribió en español, aunque pudiera estar equivocada. Apenas salió la novela en abril, así que es muy nueva. Espero que les haya gustado mi reseña. ¡Hasta luego!
