Óleo de mujer con sombrero

Hace unas semanas atrás tenía "pegada" la canción de Silvio Rodríguez "Óleo de mujer con sombrero"
En Buenos Aires, en Dain Usina Cultural durante la presentación de un libro, uno de los artistas nos regaló esta versión en vivo, con su guitarra. En los primeros acordes estaba perdida, pero bastó cerrar los ojos para conectar con la letra en mi mente, y todo lo que esta canción me hace sentir.
"El que no arriesga no gana", pienso. Pero qué difícil a veces ser valiente y arriesgar. Sin embargo, la valentía no es azarosa, no solemos actuar con coraje solo porque sí. Actuamos de ese modo porque algo nos mueve y nos importa.
Es un movimiento de esfuerzo, pero también de dulzura y sentido.

A few weeks ago, I was hooked on Silvio Rodríguez's song “Óleo de mujer con sombrero” (Oil Painting of a Woman with a Hat).
In Buenos Aires, at Dain Usina Cultural during a book presentation, one of the artists treated us to a live version of the song, accompanied by his guitar. I was lost during the first few chords, but all I had to do was close my eyes to connect with the lyrics in my mind and everything this song makes me feel.
“Nothing ventured, nothing gained,” I think. But how difficult it is sometimes to be brave and take risks. However, bravery is not random; we don't usually act courageously just because. We act that way because something moves us and matters to us.
It is a movement of effort, but also of sweetness and meaning.
