Tom Blyth has this underrated western series called Billy the Kid on MGM Plus that you need to watch after finishing People We Meet on Vacation on Netflix, the show takes a fresh look at Billy the Kid as an actual person before he became a legend, it starts with Henry McCarty as an Irish immigrant dealing with loss and survival in 1800s America and shows how he became the outlaw everyone knows, Blyth does most of his own stunts including riding horses and shooting which adds authenticity to the performance, what makes it compelling is that Billy is not some brash confident gunslinger but instead a sensitive idealistic kid who gets pushed into violence by circumstances, the show climbed into MGM Plus Top 10 most watched titles before its final season which proves people are finally catching on to how good it is.
