Gore Verbinski is working on a George R R Martin adaptation called Sandkings and he says its really cool which has me interested, the short story is from 1979 and won a Hugo Award so its legit sci fi horror material about some rich asshole who collects dangerous alien creatures and things spiral out of control, Verbinski is known for taking creative risks with stuff like Pirates of the Caribbean and Rango so this could be something special, no timeline or casting yet but the fact that he is still talking about it means the project is alive.
