(Eng / Esp) The Famous Grouse. A decent whiskey.

This week my husband bought a bottle of whisky. It's not a high-quality whisky, but considering the price ($17), it's acceptable, given the quality-price ratio. This whisky is La Famosa Perdiz (The Famous Grouse), a liquor that's consumed fairly regularly in my country, Venezuela, although consumption has decreased somewhat in recent years. This last point is an inference I've made based on what people have said.

Esta semana mi esposo compró una botella de whisky. No es un whisky de gran calidad, pero de acuerdo al precio (17 $), podría decirse que es un licor aceptable, si establecemos la relación calidad – precio. Este whisky es La Famosa Perdiz (The Famous Grouse) , un licor que es consumido con cierta regularidad en mi país, Venezuela, aunque en estos últimos años este consumo ha decrecido un poco. Esta última es una inferencia que hago, de acuerdo a los comentarios de las personas.

Looking at this beautiful, classic bottle, I can see that it is understated and elegant. The label is colorful, yet also elegant and beautiful, as is the information on the back, and everything together is harmonious. The color is a beautiful, deep amber, which hints at the flavor and potency of this whisky.

Al observar esta hermosa y clásica botella, puedo ver que es sobria y elegante. La etiqueta es colorida y también elegante y bonita a la vez bonita, así como la información que ofrece en el revés, y todo en general guarda armonía. El color es de un hermoso ámbar profundo, que da idea del sabor y la potencia de este whisky.

The Famous Grouse is a whisky made in Scotland, and it has been produced for a very long time (since 1896), which gives you an idea of its long history—a feat achieved only through quality. It is also an affordable spirit, especially when compared to other similar whiskies.

La Famosa Perdiz es un whisky hecho en Escocia, es más, tiene largo tiempo siendo producido (desde 1896), lo que da una idea de lo longevo que es, y esto sólo se logra con calidad. También es un licor accesible, al comparar su precio con los de otros similares. Aquí pueden ver que trae la cinta que se le coloca en la Aduana a aquellos licores importados (ya mi esposo se había servido un trago, por lo que la cinta se ve algo despegada).

I'll be frank: I don't drink whisky; it's not my favorite drink. But it's always worthwhile to try and learn about different spirits. The only whisky I do like is Old Parr, and I prefer it with coconut water. La Famosa Perdiz is acceptable, even though its flavor is strong and powerful, so it should be served with either sparkling water or citrus juice. In this case, I served this short drink with soda, although I didn't finish it; my husband did.

Seré franca: No soy de beber whisky, no es mi bebida favorita, pero siempre es necesario probar y conocer los licores. El único whisky que sí me gusta es el Old Parr, y servido con agua de coco, pero La Famosa Perdiz está aceptable, aun cuando su sabor es fuerte, potente, por lo que hay que servirlo ya sea con agua gasificada o con el jugo de algún cítrico. En este caso, este trago corto, me lo serví con soda, aunque no me lo bebí completo, mi esposo sí lo hizo.

Here I end my post today, in which I have shared a review of whisky that, according to its price, has acceptable quality. Wow that's a fascinating drink!I find it interesting to read this about whisky..I wanted also try a new spirits like this brand...only experienced drinking wine --which is the Maria Clara brand..
I'm interested also to try this elegant drink

It's always good to know about different liquors, because that way we know if we like them or not, and what we can pair them with. Whiskey, like wine, is a spirit with many varieties; you're sure to find one that catches your eye.

Is this good also for women? cause I haven't tried a whisky since then, hehe . Just red wine ladies drinks like Novellino, Maria Clara, and the latest we've got a shots of Carlo Rossi during my sister's birthday. 😋😍

This whiskey is strong, it depends on your taste. I, for example, only like one brand of whiskey (of those I've tried), which is Old Parr, and I usually drink it with coconut water, which is unusual; however, I love vodka, tequila, and cocuy (cocuy is a Venezuelan spirit, similar to tequila), and all of these liquors are strong. It all depends on your taste, but if you like milder drinks, I think a good wine or sangria would be a good choice.
