Any ideas how Hive could go deflationary and continue to pay out for content? I guess you'd still need money coming into the ecosystem from somewhere and then leveraged somehow....

They should go the Leo way, create a new token to sell and use the funds to pump Hive.

That would only work for a period of time I think, although it would create a massive boost in the beginning. Leo long term is riding on LEODEX fees. For now they are doing well because of leveraging their own stack and our stacks for yield that they distribute.

Hmm...I once thought about this but wondered how it would pan out. If Hive goes deflationary, will it negatively affect the vote weight from curators?

At current, it would lead to 0 post payouts without some kind of new place for the money to come from. Not sure what that could be, which is why it's an interesting topic. What kind of products could hive sell in order to generate money for distribution to users?

Another idea I can think of is a 3rd deflationary token for governance and HBD being backed by that. Then Hive would deflate only at a rate that keeps HBD at $1, so if more money is coming into the ecosystem than required to keep the peg, and there are big reserves, some of that becomes post rewards.

Complicated but not impossible. Maybe not ideal right now
