Do trades between different ecosystems take much longer on a dex compared to trading two assets in the same ecosystem? Like trading Eth on arbitrum to Eth on Base takes longer than trading Eth on Base to Surge on Base?

I would think so because If I'm not mistaken there are more steps involved in cross-chain trades

Cross-ecosystem trades on a DEX usually take longer due to bridge protocols and network confirmations. Same-ecosystem trades, like Eth to Surge on Base, are faster since they skip those extra steps. Latency depends on the chains involved
