Thrash metal is one of those things I enjoy but know nothing about. Indie I probably know more about. What indie bands?

Startet with Slayer, got hooked by the sound of the first 3 metallica albums - which are master pieces, but then Cliff died and it was gone.

Bloc Party, the sounds, arctic monkeys, the wombats, razorlight, vampire weekend, the strokes, ok go, of course the $HIVEs, the libertines, baby shambles, pete doherty solo , and couple of 🇩🇪 ones

From that list I only really listened to Vampire Weekend enough to know their songs, and the obvious Metallica songs that everyone knows. I saw both. Went to see Metallica/Linkin Park cause Deftones was opening but Deftones definitely didn't fit a stadium setting. The other bands, while not my favorite definitely have the resources and experience to make a memorable stadium show.

Vampire Weekends first album was solid, that first song still sticks with me! And OK GO while I don't know their music well, their videos are crazy

Yeah Vampire Weekends first was very very good, like first album of the Arctic Monkeys. Got little bit stranger afterwards, but one has to keep in mind: the first album both bands most likely worked more and longer as for the following ones. They had the time for fine tune, rethinking or what with material before releasing. Second album had performance pressure.
Ah yeah forgot about Deftones and Linkin Park. #rip Chester.

Jesus got me through high school. I mean The Jesus And Mary Chain, the shoegaze brothers who turned the feedback button up to 11. The noise expressed how I felt about the world. I didn't really understand how kinky some of the lyrics were, but they touched a nerve...
