In battles with the Broken Arrows Ruleset, Ranged Attack Monsters cannot be used in battles, meaning Melee Attack Monsters and Magic Attack Monsters can be used. Also, I would like to point out that the combination of Thorns Ability and Amplify Ability against Melee Attack Monsters, and the combination of Magic Reflect Ability and Amplify Ability against Magic Attack Monsters are very effective to destroy them more easily. I never hesitate to use these combinations when I have the opportunity and can predict my opponent's strategy.

Battle Ruleset

• Explosive Weaponry: All Monsters have the Blast ability.
• Broken Arrows: Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles.

Blast ability : Does half damage (rounded up) to Units adjacent to the target Unit.

MY STRATEGY

Since the battle has the Broken Arrows ruleset, Ranged Attack Monsters cannot be used in this battle. Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the recent 5 battles of the opponent player, it was very difficult for me to predict the opponent player's strategy, so I had to take every possibility into consideration.

In battles with the Explosive Weaponry Ruleset, Gladiators can be much more effective, so I will use a gladiator card in this battle. As a Gladiator card, I decided to use the Katrelba Gobson card, even though it only has 4 health. I knew that if I could prevent her from being the target of the enemies, that is, if I could prevent her from being destroyed, Katrelba Gobson would be very effective in this battle, so I will determine my strategy and my team's lineup accordingly. I will also add a Monster with the Taunt Ability to my team because I didn't want the other monsters in the backline to be the target of the enemies for my strategy to work well.

LINE UP

Summoner : LOBB LOWLAND

Lobb Lowland is an Earth Summoner that reduces the speed of all enemy monsters by 1 and allows the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle.

Position 1: LICHEN BEAST

Lichen Beast is an Earth Monster that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Enrage Ability from level 1. Since Lichen Beast has the Enrage Ability and 8 health, I put it in the first position.

• Enrage Ability : This unit has 50% bonus Melee attack and Speed when not at full health.

Position 2: THANE NEWSONG

Thane Newsong is a Earth Monster with no attack power and has Inspire Ability and Strengthen Ability at level 3. I can say that I added Thane Newsong to my team so that Katrelba Gobson can attack her targets more powerfully. And I put Thane Newsong in the second position.

• Inspire Ability : Gives all friendly Units +1 Melee attack.
• Strengthen Ability : All friendly Units have their Health increased by 1.

Position 3: QUEEN MYCELIA

Queen Mycelia is an Earth Monster that can attack the target with a Magic Attack and has Protect Ability at level 1. I added Queen Mycelia, who has the Protect Ability, to my team because I believe that it would be beneficial for all monsters in my team to have extra +2 armor in this battle. And I put Queen Mycelia in the third position.

• Protect Ability : All friendly Units gain +2 Armor.

Position 4: KATRELBA GOBSON

Katrelba Gobson is a Gladiator that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has the Bloodlust Ability, Sneak Ability, Double Strike Ability and Snare Ability at level 5. Katrelba Gobson is a Gladiator with very powerful abilities and can be very effective in such battles, so I added Katrelba Gobson to my team. I knew that if I could prevent her from being destroyed, she would be very effective in this battle, so I put her in the fourth position. I would also put a monster with the Taunt Ability in the last position, which meant that Katrelba Gobson would not be the target of enemies until it was destroyed.​

• Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.
• Sneak Ability : Targets the last Unit on the enemy Team instead of the first Unit.
• Double Strike Ability : This unit attacks twice each round.
• Snare Ability : When attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss.

Position 5: VENATOR KINJO

Venator Kinjo is an Neutral Monster that can attack the target with a Melee Attack and has Reflection Shield Ability, Camouflage Ability, and Immunity Ability at level 2. The most important reason why I added Venator Kinjo to the team was because it has the Reflection Shield Ability, and I put it in the fifth position next to the Monster with the Taunt Ability.

• Reflection Shield Ability : This Unit doesn't take damage from Blast, Magic Reflect, Thorns, or Return Fire.
• Camouflage Ability : This Unit cannot be directly targeted for attacks unless it's in the first position.
• Immunity Ability : This unit is immune to negative status effects.

Position 6: MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN

Mycelic Slipspawn is an Earth Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Taunt Ability and Forcefield Ability at level 4. The most important reason why I added Mycelic Slipspawn to the team is that it has the Taunt Ability, and the fact that it has the Forcefield Ability is a significant advantage against Monsters with 5 or more attacks.

• Taunt Ability : All enemy Units target this Unit (if they are able to).
• Forcefield Ability : This Unit takes only 1 damage from attacks with power 5 or higher.

Round 1

In the first round, Katrelba Gobson's attacks were very effective and she managed to destroy the Time Mage. However, Time Mage was brought back with 1 health with the Resurect Ability. Marisol Contuma with the Reach Ability is the only monster that could disrupt my strategy, but the fact that my monsters in the first two positions had armor prevented him attack from being very effective. At the end of the first round, all monsters from both teams managed to survive.

Round 2

In the second round, Katrelba Gobson's attacks were truly brutal, destroying both Time Mage and Adelade Brightwing, which also meant she got +1 to all her stats twice. At the end of the second round, while 2 monsters from the opposing team were destroyed, one monster from my team was destroyed.

Round 3

At the beginning of the third round, Katrelba Gobson almost destroyed the opposing team with her brutal attacks.

This is exactly why I prefer Katrelba Gobson in such battles.

Only Venator Kinjo was left in the opposing team and it was not difficult to destroy him and my team managed to win the battle.

Even though the battle cost 37 mana, it only lasted 3 rounds. At the end of the battle, while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, 5 monsters on my team were still alive, which showed that my strategy worked very well in this battle. Although Katrelba Gobson did a great job in this battle, the fact that all the monsters in my team had armor played a big role in the victory, otherwise Marisol Contuma would have been quite effective.
