Rented Cards! Purchased Wild Pass! And More!

Hello Everyone! Hope you're all are doing great and welcome to my daily Splinterlands post!
Today, I’m really excited to share my latest adventure in Splinterlands, and honestly, it’s been one of my best gaming days so far. I decided to rent some powerful cards, bought the Wild Pass, and jumped straight into the Wild ranked battles. And you know what? It turned out to be an amazing experience! The results were beyond my expectations, I actually won several battles and felt that incredible rush that only Splinterlands players can understand!
Renting Cards
One of the things I love about Splinterlands is the freedom it gives to every player. You don’t necessarily need to own every card to compete, you can rent them for a reasonable price. I’ve seen many players talk about how renting the right cards can completely change your performance, especially in ranked matches. So, I thought I should try this.
I don't really know good decks and good combination of cards so I searched the internet. Many people suggested to try Kelya Frendul, Venari Wavesmith, Djinn Oshannus, Sea Monster, Mylor Crowling, Unicorn Mustang and Creeping Ooze, I rented them all. Renting also felt like a smart choice because I didn’t want to spend too much DEC or credits on cards I might not always use.

Wild Pass
After renting, I went ahead and bought the Wild Pass, which allows you to participate in Wild format ranked battles. I’ve mostly played in Modern before, but I’ve always been curious about Wild. Plus, you can use all your cards in the wild pass and I also really wanted to play with my new rented cards.
Wild battles feel very different, there’s a bigger mix of cards, more possibilities, and the strategies are more diverse. You can encounter some really creative team setups, and that keeps every battle fresh and unpredictable.
Ranked Battles
I played lots of ranked battles before renting cards. But, since I didn't had good cards, I lost most of those battles. However, now that I rented some good cards, it was complete opposite this time. I played lots of Wild Ranked Battles and I won most of them.
In most of my games with ideal mana cap battles, my team format was as follows:
Summoner: Kelya Frendul
First Position: Sea Monster
Second Position: Djinn Oshannus
Third Position: Venari Wavesmith
Fourth Position: Axemaster
Fifth Position: Coastal Nymph
Sixth Position: Creeping Ooze
I picked Sea Monster because of it's really large health and it's high attack power. Plus, because of it's abilities, whenever it takes damage, it deal 2 damage back to the attack, also he gains health each round. This makes it really hard to go down.
My second position is Djinn Oshannus because of it's very high speed and health. Furthermore, it's abilities is what makes it really special. Void makes him take 50% less magic damage, Phase makes magic attacks have the same chance to miss as physical attacks and Forcefield makes attacks dealing 5Ven damage or more instead deal 1 damage.
Venari Wavesmith is also a really good mage unit. It has support abilities that gives +2 armor to all allied units and removes magic buffs after a successful attack.
Axe Master and Coastal Nymph are my two high damage ranged attackers. They have really good abilities like Axemaster has Double Strike which allows it to attack twice each turn and Coastal Nymph has Affliction which is an anti-heal ability, it has a 50% chance to apply Afflicted after a successful attack. Afflicted units cannot be healed.
Lastly, my sixth position is Creeping Ooze. It doesn't really has the best stats, however with it's ability it works as if you've got two summoners in your team. It has Slow ability which decreases speed of enemy units by 1. It's a really good addition to my team because my team is high speed based. So, slowing the enemy team means you have even better chance to dodge their attacks.
Here are some screenshots of one of my battles with the new rented cards:

My favorite card among them is definitely Djinn Oshannus. He is literally untouchable due to his high speed.
Conclusion
After several battles, I noticed my rating climbing steadily, and my confidence grew with each match. Watching your opponent’s cards fall one by one while your team stands strong gives a sense of achievement that makes this game even more addictive. Renting cards opened up new opportunities for me, and playing in Wild format added a fun challenge. I felt like I discovered a new side of the game, one that rewards experimentation and risk-taking. I’m already planning to rent more cards next season and push my Wild ranking even higher.
That’s all for this post! I’ll be back tomorrow with another one, so stay tuned and follow my Splinterlands journey.
