The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 has now wrapped up, and after watching the entire presentation, I can honestly say this was one of the strongest Xbox showcases we have seen in a very long time.

Expectations were high going into the event because Microsoft had promised all things related to premieres, first party updates, Game Pass announcements and a special deep dig into into Gears of War: E Day after the main show. So many fans expected something big. Xbox mostly worked.

The presentation had reveals, trailers, gameplay footage, and, a few surprises that caught me off guard, but not every announcement was equally exciting, the overall show felt focused and, confident.

Today I share my thoughts on the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 and, discuss the games that stood out for me.

𝐆𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐚𝐫: 𝐄-𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞

A game that really shows classic Xbox energy is Gears of War E Day.

Microsoft knows how important this franchise is which is why the game got its own presentation after the showcase also the footage looked fantastic with intense combat great visuals and that darker atmosphere fans love.

So I've always enjoyed Gears because it feels different from modern shooters, the landscape of is harsh, the characters are clear, &, the combat has weight that few games can match.

Watching more of E Day. My excitement level went up.

Another big moment came from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4.

So the showcase introduced a new DMZ focused experience where players enter conflict zones to complete objectives gather resources and extract safely and the idea seeMsto be to create unpredictable matches where every decision matters. The game is scheduled to launch in October 2026.

Call of Duty appears almost every year, and I thought this reveal looked fresh.

The tension of trying to survive and extract gear makes every match feel different.

Halo also had a presence during the showcase.

Microsoft revealed more information about Halo: Campaign Evolved, including a release date & new missions, and for Xbox fans, Halo is one of those franchises that always attracts attention, a bit at every time...

The visuals looked impressive, and seeing Master Chief return once again reminded me why Halo became such an important part of Xbox history.

I know some fans have mixed feelings about recent Halo releases, but this project looks promising.

𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐚 𝐖𝐚𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞

I did not expect the Senua announcement.

Ninja Theory revealed a new action adventure game set after Hellblade II, taking the series in a fresh direction with larger environments, expanded combat, and more exploration.

This was a reveal I liked.

The atmosphere looked incredible, and Senua remains one of the most interesting characters in modern gaming.

JRPG fans had a lot to celebrate too.

After years of anticipation Persona 6 finally appeared during the showcase even though Microsoft only showed a teaser it was enough to get RPG fans really excited. Xbox revealed more details about Persona 4 Revival. It is a modern reimagining of the classic.

Even without being a JRPG expert, I felt the excitement around this announcement.

Persona has become a respected RPG franchise, and seeing it featured was a win for Xbox.

𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭 𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐈𝐈 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐀 𝐅𝐮𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧

Another surprise was Minecraft Dungeons II.

So the original game was better than expected and the sequel expands on what worked with new environments tougher enemies more customization options , more loot.

It is not the flashiest game in the lineup, but it can become one of the most played.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Since 2026 marks 25 years of Xbox, Microsoft also unveiled a special Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console along with a matching controller.

The translucent green design was inspired by the original Xbox and felt like a tribute to the brand's history, even though it doesn't offer new hardware features collectors will probably love it.

As someone who grew up seeing the original Xbox, I thought this was a cool nostalgic moment.

Xbox’s strength this year was confident presentation.

So Microsoft wasn't just showing random trailers, also the company seemed determined to remind everyone why Xbox remains important in the gaming industry, like it always has, you know.

The presentation included major franchises like Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty, and Persona &, introduced new projects including Senua &, several fresh IPs all while highlighting over 30 upcoming games.

The pacing was excellent.

Few segments felt slow, there was always something happening.

Overall, I would give the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 a 9/10.

So not every reveal was a personal favorite and, there were still a few games I hoped would appear but did not, but between Gears of War E Day, Halo Campaign Evolved, Senua, Persona 6, Minecraft Dungeons II, and, Modern Warfare 4, Microsoft delivered one of its best presentations lately.

More importantly, the showcase made me excited about Xbox's future.

That doesn't happen every year.

The biggest winner was Gears of War: E Day & Senua was the most surprising reveal of the event.
