First Post !! || My Honest Review of "The Great Gatsby" (No Spoilers)

Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing great.
This is my very first post in this community. I am really hyped about about it! I want my first post to be good so I decided to give my review on a classic book that I read recently. I am sure you all have heard of it. It's The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

So The Great Gatsby is one of those books most people know about even if they never read it, called a classic and linked to things like the American Dram, love also success. When I picked it up. I expected something dramatic. As well as emotional. I found something quieter and, more subtle. It was a little empty. It felt very intentional.
So the first thing that stands out in this book is the writing, as well as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s language is beautiful. The sentences flow smoothly. Even simple descriptions feel crafted. While reading, I kept stopping just to admire the wording. It is the kind of book. You can tell. Every line was written with purpose.

The field of of the novel feels surface level and you can sense wealth and luxury everywhere. Everything feels fine. So there’s this weird coldness lurking underneath it all, like the pretty parts don’t actually feel inviting or cozy at all. It feels distant and almost artificial. That contrast between appearance and reality is a key aspect of the book.
What I liked was how the story doesnt rush it doesnt rely on constant action or dramatic moments. It creates a mood over time. So the book lets you sit with silence, awkward conversations, also emotional gaps, it is not trying to entertain in a loud way. He's trying to get you to watch.

So the characters are interesting but not necessarily likable as well as I think that was done intentionally. They feel emotionally distant and sometimes shallow. While reading I didn't feel connected to any character, and, I felt like an outsider watching people chase things they believe will make them happy.
Relationships in the book feel fragile, and conversations seem to hide more than they say. People are performing versions of themselves. They're not being real. This distance bothers some readers. For others it is what makes the story powerful.

The Great Gatsby explores big ideas but is not obvious as it questions success identity and fulfilment. It doesn’t tell you what to think. Instead it shows you in our current environment , lets you feel the emptiness behind it and that approach makes the book feel mature and thoughtful, you know.
At the same time will be honest i felt more admiration than emotional attachment by the end i respected the book more than i loved it. It felt like looking at a beautiful painting behind glass. You can appreciate it, analyze it, and talk about it, but you don’t necessarily feel close to it.

Conclusion

This is a book that hits differently depending on where you are in life, and, some people may find it tragic, others romantic and some might feel disappointed by its distance. It felt like a warning. It was hidden inside elegant writing.

Overall The Great Gatsby deserves its reputation as a classic because it’s short in addition it has meaning. But it is not a book you read for comfort. You read it to reflect, and, it leaves you thinking instead of feeling satisfied.
In the end my experience with The Great Gatsby was simple and I admired it, yeah. I respected it. But I didn’t feel emotionally full after finishing it.

Well, I guess this is it for this post. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
