Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
Today I wanted to do another card spotlight because I've been checking out more of the newer cards lately. Some of them look really cool, but I also wanted to see if they are actually useful in battles and not just good looking.
The card I picked today is Infernal Firestorm.
At first I thought it was just another expensive Fire card, but after reading its abilities a bit more, I think this one can actually change how you build your frontline. It doesn't only fight, it also helps the rest of your team.

The first thing that caught my eye was the artwork. It honestly looks amazing. It really gives that powerful Fire element feeling.
This is an Epic Fire unit, and at Level 6 (max level) it unlocks both of its abilities.
It also has some really solid stats.
Mana Cost: 10
Attack: 3 Magic
Health: 11
Armor: 7
Speed: 4
It isn't a cheap card to use because of the 10 mana cost, but those defensive stats are pretty impressive. Seven armor with eleven health means it can survive for quite a while if your opponent doesn't have the perfect counter.

Flank: At the beginning of the battle, if this unit is in the first position, the unit in the second position gains Reach.

This ability activates at the beginning of battle.
If Infernal Firestorm is placed in the first position, then the monster behind it gains Reach.
I honestly like this ability a lot.
Normally only certain melee monsters can attack from the second position, but Flank lets you bring another heavy melee attacker that otherwise wouldn't be able to attack early.
That gives you much more flexibility when building your lineup.

Demoralize: -1 melee power to all enemy units.

The second ability is Demoralize.
It reduces the melee attack of every enemy monster by one.
That might not sound like a huge deal at first, but against melee-heavy teams it can reduce a surprising amount of incoming damage over the course of a battle.
Sometimes even one less damage each attack can completely change the outcome.

Personally, I think this card is more of a team support tank than a pure damage dealer.
Its magic attack is nice, but what really makes it valuable is how much utility it brings.
You get:
Strong frontline durability
Support for your second-position melee monster
Less melee damage from the enemy team
That combination is honestly pretty strong.
I can already imagine using it with another powerful melee monster sitting right behind it.

I think it depends on the ruleset and mana cap.
In low mana battles, probably not because ten mana is a huge investment.
But in higher mana matches, I could definitely see this card becoming one of the center pieces of a Fire lineup.
Especially if you're expecting your opponent to bring lots of melee monsters.
The Demoralize alone can make their attacks feel much weaker.

Overall, I think Infernal Firestorm is a very interesting Fire card.
It isn't the kind of monster that wins games all by itself, but it helps your entire lineup perform better. I actually like cards like this because they reward good team building instead of just having huge damage numbers.
I haven't used this card a lot yet, so maybe my opinion changes after more matches, but my first impression is definitely positive.
If I ever get the chance to own or rent this card, I'll absolutely test some different Fire team combinations around it.
Anyway thats it for todayโs #Splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
