![]()
Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing.
In this post, I will be talking about another #splinterlands card, that has caught my attention. It can play as a Melee Attacker and also as a Support because of it's abilities.
Introducing Busy Beaver
Busy Beaver belongs to the Earth / Water element and can be played as a Melee Attacker and also Support. This card can be used in medium to high mana cap battles because of it's mana cost. It costs 6 mana to be used in battles. This amazing card carries 5 abilities at it's max level, which I'm going to be talking about next.

STATS AND ABILITIES
At level 1, this card comes with 2 Melee Attack, 7 health, 3 armor and 2 speed. Even at level 1 this card is an absolute beast. Even though it does not have a lot of armor but It can still be really useful if you position it correctly. This card also comes with an ability from the initial level, Reckless.

- Reckless: Each successful attack also deals 1 true damage to adjacent allied units.
Now, with this ability, this card becomes even more impressive. It now has AOE damage because of Reckless ability. When this card is upgraded to level 2, it's stats remain the same, however it gains a new ability called, Stun.

- Stun: 50% chance to apply Stunned for one round after a successful attack. Stunned units skip their turn and cannot Retaliate.
At level 3, it's stats finally gets an increase. It's health is increased from 7 to 8. It's other stats remain the same. It's because it's base stats are already really good.
At level 4, it's armor actually gets a decrease from 3 to 2 and it also gains it's third ability called, Protect.

- Protect: +2 Armor to all allied units.
At level 5, It's speed is increased from 2 to 3. It's other stats remain the same.
At level 6, it's stats remains the same. However, it gains a new ability called, Repair.

- Repair: Restores 2 armor (up to max) to the allied unit with the most damage to its armor.
At level 7, it's melee attack damage is increase from 2 to 3. It's other stats remains the same though.
At level 8 (max level), it's stats remains the same. However, it gains it's final ability called, Armored Strike.

- Armored Strike: If armored, gains a melee attack that deals damage equal to remaining armor.
Lore
There is a beaver.
This needs to be stated clearly, up front, because what follows will strain credulity. But the facts are these: somewhere in the wetlands between the Oni Desert and Northwest Lowlands, there is a beaver. A regular beaver. Brown fur. Flat tail. Orange incisors. Approximately 30 kilograms of compact mammalian determination.
This beaver has a dam to build.
He has been building this dam for the better part of his life. It is not a particularly good dam, and sections collapse regularly. But he can't stop, won't stop. Beavers build. It's their nature.
One day, an ulund war party passed through the wetlands. The beaver was working on his dam. They got too close. The beaver, focused on placing a particularly troublesome log, swung his tail to slap the water in warning.
He missed the water and hit an ulund warrior instead.
The warrior went down. Just… down. Unconscious. The tail slap had caught the ulund square in the chest. The rest of the war party stared. The beaver, annoyed at the interruption, went back to chewing his log.
Wood chips flew. Several hit the ulund. They raised their shields instinctively.
The beaver, seeing the shields, interpreted this as: "These tall creatures need structural reinforcement."
He began flinging mud at them.
Beavers use mud to seal their dams. This beaver had mud. The ulund had surfaces that needed sealing. Simple logic. He scooped mud with his forepaws and flung it with manic efficiency. The mud splattered across armor, hardened almost immediately in the dry air, and provided (quite accidentally) a layer of protective coating.
The ulund, confused but now mud-armored, continued their mission. The beaver continued building.
Word spread.
Other groups came to the wetlands, some seeking the beaver deliberately, others stumbling upon him by accident. Every encounter followed the same pattern:
The beaver would be working. Visitors would approach. The beaver would interpret their presence as either: a) threats to his dam, or b) helpers who needed materials applied to them.
Threats received the tail. Helpers received mud.
The beaver also gnawed. Constantly. Trees fell around him in an expanding radius of industrious chaos. Anyone standing nearby risked getting hit by falling timber, struck by flying wood chips, or trampled when the beaver dragged a fresh-cut log to his dam with single-minded determination that did not account for bystanders.
His dam grew. Sections collapsed. He rebuilt them. The cycle continued: when enemies approached his dam, he tail-slapped them into unconsciousness, and when logs needed moving, he moved them, regardless of what was in the path. When his mud-armor on passersby started cracking, he reapplied it, because good dam construction requires maintenance.
From the beaver's perspective, nothing changed. He was building a dam. These tall creatures kept showing up and apparently needed structural work done on them. Fine. He would do the work. But his dam came first.
The beaver's contribution to several skirmishes against the Conclave Arcana is now documented in Riftwatcher reports. The reports are confused. The beaver is not.
He has a dam to build.
The fact that warriors seek him out, that tales are told of the busy beaver who armors allies with mud and stuns enemies with his tail slap—none of this matters to him.
What matters is the dam. The dam is not finished. It will never be finished. Beavers do not finish. They build. They maintain. They continue.
So he continues.
In the wetlands between the Oni Desert and Northwest Lowlands, there is a beaver. A regular beaver, who has, through no intention of his own and with complete indifference to the concept, become an absolute legend.
His dam is still not done.
He's working on it.
Conclusion
This monster card is something that every player should have in their arsenal. Even at bronze league, this card is a great addition to the team and it really packs a punch. It deals great amount of damage if you upgrade it to it's max level because then it gains the Armored Strike ability. Even if we talk about this card from a trading point of view, it's black variant goes for a pretty hefty amount when you upgrade it. It goes for upto 509$ in the market, so keep leveling it up lads!
So next time you are battling in a medium to high mana match, give Busy Beaver a try. You might be surprised by how much this beast can contribute to your win streaks!
