Bitcoin ETF evolution
Hello friends!
Today I was looking at the WalletPilot website and I got surprised by the numbers of Bitcoin ETFs. Right now, all together they hold around 1.3 million Bitcoin. That is crazy! It’s almost 6% of the total supply already locked inside these funds.
Here the website (I recommend you to check it): https://www.walletpilot.com/bitcoin-tracker/etfs?welcome-banner=yes
The leader is IBIT, the iShares Bitcoin Trust. They have around 749,000 BTC under management. That’s more than half of all ETF holdings. And money keeps flowing in. Last month they added hundreds of millions of dollars, however this month we are still in the red. See image below:
If things continue like this, by the end of the year ETFs could hold more than 1.5 million BTC. That means even less supply on the market for regular people like us. Remember, Bitcoin is scarce. When coins get locked in these funds, they are not moving anymore. And when demand goes higher, price usually reacts.
I think this is very bullish for Bitcoin in the long term. It shows that big investors and institutions are no longer ignoring it. They want exposure and they are buying fast. For us small hodlers it is good news, because we are front row to watch adoption at a global scale.
But at the same time we need to be careful. If institutions buy a lot, they can also move markets when they sell. Volatility will not disappear, maybe it will even get stronger with so much big money involved.
For me the message is simple: keep stacking sats, keep calm, and don’t get distracted by short-term moves. Bitcoin is being absorbed by the financial system, and that is a strong signal of growth.
Let’s enjoy the ride. The next months will be very interesting!
Stay safe in the difficult days get off the screen!
