The Chaos Legion Set was released on October 18, 2021

The Chaos Legion card set was the third major card expansion to be introduced into the Splinterlands game. With over 100 new cards bursting with eye-popping artwork and strategy-changing abilities, it represented our largest and most ambitious release to date. Packs are now sold-out in game, but are available in the Splinterlands market and other 3rd party markets.

Present Day
It's now 2026, wow did time fly. It seems as if it was just yesterday that the Splinterlands community was discussing the total pack supply for CHAOS and if that supply was enough. Will we sell out in under an hour? A half hour? Will they not sell out at all. There was some real buzz and uncertainty of the outcome. Unfortunately it was smack dab in the middle of the CHAOS Pack release that the cryptocurrency market and general world markets pulled back. Since most are more intrigued by the earn part in #play2earn gaming that meant a depleting player-base. This meant the pack supply at no fault of anyone's end up being a little too plentiful for immediate gains. I (@rentmoney) would argue this wasn't necessarily a bad thing. What some might call an over supply of CHAOS packs gave the game something that was much needed at that time. Something that the CHAOS pack is still providing to this day. A very affordable entry into ranked play. Anytime someone might mention that building a playable deck is too costly - I simply just (cough - cough) mention CHAOS packs. At current time you can get three packs for about $1.00 USD worth of credits/dec (Splinterlands.com) or swap.hive (TribalDex). That is 15 cards for about $1.00 --- what a deal. Of course my head is still slightly stuck in 2020-2021 when everything was booming. Although just slightly. When it comes to trades on the Hive Blockchain its the Hive Token that I am interested in. The USD worth of things are only of interest if one were wanting to cash-out (so to speak). I sold a little over 50 packs over the past days. The Hive Token price for the ones sold on Tribaldex ranged from 6.5 - 7.25 tokens. I still have a small amount (24) for sale on TribalDex. They seem to be selling at a decent rate. It will be interesting to see how fast the remainder sell, if at all. I have plenty more I plan on holding.

Total packs on the market
As the screenshot with the packs show: CHAOS packs have a bid price of $0.202. I wonder do people sell into that? What do you think? Have you snagged some at that more than affordable rate? If so let me know in the comment section. The ask price (buy it now price) is $0.34. There are a total of 24,258 packs on the market at current time. Please note these numbers can change quickly and abruptly so at the time of you reading this the supply and cost of CHAOS packs on the secondary market might reflect different sale and supply costs/volume. When comparing the CHAOS packs to its predecessors you can see they are easily the most affordable pack to purchase. The OG pack known as ALPHA has a bid price of $1.225 and a ask price of $11.990 with just 54 listed. The BETA pack has a bid of $1.00 and ask price of $4.990 with 943 listed. UNTAMED has a bid of $4.00 and a ask price of $2.880 with 1561 packs listed for trade. I am not sure how many CHAOS packs I own but its a few. Looking at that same screenshot I can see I managed to hold onto 0 Alpha Packs/ 0 Beta Packs/ 21 ORBS and 84 UNTAMED Packs. Funny story: I purchased 100 UNTAMED packs to hold for future speculation/ bragging rights. Why do I only have 84? I fumbled a pack opening. I with recklessness went to the MANA Well to flip some packs and without fully paying attention I somehow managed to drag some UNTAMED into the well. By the time I noticed my human error it was too late -- the well did its thing. However it wasn't doom and gloom. It was fun to watch the UNTAMED animation pack opening sequence. There is something about flipping packs that is fun regardless of what set that pack is part of. The fact its an out of print set makes it slightly more intriguing.
