Always being condensed to; there are people here now that will always run a node. Hive is more than its token trade value. So many possibilities. One is low USD value but the business side/ social side of the blockchain still a success.

You might want to read what I typed again. Many possibilities. What businesses? Splinterlands is here and that has been successful. Holozing is getting closer to launching. Hive-Engine/ Inleo was born here and still operates here.
Holozing is vaporware that drains funds. (the head of the project admits to not knowing anything about building games)
Splinterlands is a joke and begged for money from the DHF to keep the servers running.
Blew through 30million in revenue paying off their friends, who have left the project.
Leo has moved its main revenue off of Hive.

No begging took place. Splinterlands made millionaires. Took shots at greater things with big WEB2 companies/ known B list stars which likely ate up funds. Can't hit a home run if you are too scared to bat.

Yes, many possibilities. Hive can have one or more aspects of success while its token potentially stagnates in USD value. Ex. in app purchases can have fiat flowing to business owners but might not help the Hive Tokens USD value.
In the example above. A successful business can run on the Hive Blockchain regardless of token value.
In-app purchases from web2 users I believe is one of the roads to getting WEB2 on WEB3. Build stuff they like interacting with and provide ways for them to spend their fiat; paypal ect. Which is why gaming is such a good fit.
We have wildly different views on the realities of business and the economic viability of maintaining a blockchain.
WEB2 apps are plentiful using such business models. Facebook is full of them. Purchase X credits for X more turns. I am not experienced enough to know the full cost of running a blockchain. I was referring to running a node to access Hive.
