Poker Update (2026-02-01)

We had some luck over the past day or two playing poker. Yesterday we spent most the day playing sat tournaments. We were on a roll for about 5-6 hours winning multiple seats to the semi-final and final $109 ticket games. Unfortunately regardless of how many initial sats and following phases that were won we ultimately lost about 10 USD on Site One. It was at that time we pivoted to site number 2. We managed to win somewhere north of $50 at the tables at site 2 but lost it back today. Earlier in the week I won my way into three separate tournaments that awarded a $22 ticket to the winners. Those three tournaments played today and now have concluded. I lost the first two games but end up binking (winning) the third. Winning a $22 ticket in the process. While waiting for the final sat for the $22 ticket to start I notice an $8.80 buy in sat that awarded top 15 a $55 ticket. At the time of me joining the $8.80 buy in game there weren't many others in. A slew of players registered during the last minute. It was touch and go there for awhile but I managed to maintain top 15 and finished with a $55 ticket. We won some smaller sat tickets over the past two days as well. They can be seen in the opening screenshot.

I wasn't quick enough on the draw to get a capture of the $55 ticket win but I managed to capture the $22 ticket win. The game the $22 ticket is to be utilized on currently is in late registration. It's a $30,000 gntd Bounty tournament with a mixture of 20 and 7 minute blinds. An interesting blind structure indeed. The first three levels are 20 minutes. The remaining levels thereafter 7 minutes. I'm tempted to play but looking at my rake for this week Site Two managed to earn $88 from me in rake. In poker there is something called rake-back. Essentially the site gives a portion of the profit they made from your play back to you. Looking at the promotions I'm being offered. I'm being offered 8% weekly rake-back provided I reach $25 in paid rake.
That 8% weekly rake-back increases to 10% after I rake $75. $2 of that $22 ticket will count as $2 in rake. $5 of that $55 ticket will count as $5 in rake. My rake-back promotion pays out in a couple hours time. If I use those tickets now the combined $7 in rake will count towards this weeks rake-back payment. Unfortunately I need to rake at least $14 to reach the next payout structure and the only way to do that is to hit the cash tables which I'm not going to do. Utilizing the tickets next week will have me raking +$7 out of next weeks $25 min threshold. There is a second offer site two gives me that is tracked monthly. I need to rake $250 for $10. Which equals to 4% rake-back. This means I'll get at least 12-14% rake-back for my play at Site 2 provided I rake $250 a month. To say that stinks would be an understatement. However while rake-back is important it's not as important as being on a site that one can win on. It's not as important as being on a site that is trustworthy to hold ones funds. It's not as important as reliable cash-outs. It's not as important as support and site reps being easily reached. Site two excels at all those things.

Above you can see the payout scale for my monthly bonus. As more is raked: the amount you get back in rakeback bonus increases. The bonus structure goes all the way up to 20,000 points for a total of $5000 paid to the participant. Which would amount to 25% rakeback. If one were to rake 20K in a month it's likely they would also reach the 20% weekly rake-back threshold. Effectively earning oneself 45% rakeback. Now that is interesting. Can I reach that level? Is there enough action on the tables to make it viable? Not likely. Regardless I'm no-where near ready to even attempt such a thing. I do know that if I keep playing these sats and winning tickets to high value games its only a matter of time before I final table one of them. Getting to that first $1000+ is crucial in my plan. I'm doing it from $0 with no deposits on site two. Once we get there we can move that $1000 around which will help us with getting better rake-back deals through the way of deposit bonuses. Moving money from site one to site two and back again when needed. Never using ones own money but won money from our initial $0 deposit challenge. That is how its done. That is how you turn all your poker venture into one big Freeroll.
Tomorrow we do the last steps to our reddit experiment. We had plans to finish it last month but some real-life events took place so the less important things got pushed back. We might even use this post in the experiment. For those who might be wondering (what experiment). We here at the @rentmoney blog were recording view conversion rates from Reddit to Hive. As it stands its seems as those on Reddit read the snippet but rarely click the links within. Conversion is expected to be small. The fact that everyone is rightfully cautious of clicking URL links from unknowns will do that. I will be rolling up my sleeves and attempting to get thousands of views on not only a Reddit Post but also a stand-alone post here on the Hive Blockchain. How will I do that? Good old fashion elbow grease. I'm simply going to put the work in to make such a reality. That's it for this post. See you at our next one. Thanks for taking the time to visit our blog. You are appreciated. Don't forget to smash follow. It makes it easier for you to find our content here on Hive.
I'll be partnering up with some poker sites soon which will lead to some freeroll tournaments for everyone to enjoy. I'll announce here on our blog when that is a reality. Sponsored games for Hive is in our future. We got to get that poker forum built first though which is high on our to do list.

That 12–14% rake-back might feel low, but as you said, being on a trustworthy site with reliable cash-outs is worth more than a higher rate on a shady platform.
Win or lose some is normal, you can't win every game you play, the important is the in the end the sum is green and not red!
