CGRF Sponsorship Proposal - September 2025 Batch

The purpose of this proposal is to determine if the SPS DAO would like to officially sponsor Web3 gamers that were negatively impacted by the shutdown of Stella Fantasy, Embersword, Shatterline, Nyan Heroes, Deadrop, Synergy of Serra and Chains of War via the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund. If this proposal passes, eligible players will be able to visit a claim page made available by the Splinterlands team to verify ownership of an impacted wallet for a period of 90 days from the launch of the Sponsorship program.

Proposal # 239

Adjust Token Distribution Strategy

The purpose of this proposal is to ensure that the SPS DAO has a viable strategy for providing rewards distribution for years to come. After Clayboyn's recent post exploring a more sustainable approach to rewards, a DAOn Hall with Matt and Dave as well as many conversations with SPS stakeholders, Clayboyn put together a proposal based on that feedback to present for the DAO's consideration. Clayboyn encourages everyone to approach this proposal with an open mind, provide actionable feedback if you desire to do so and most importantly to consider that this proposal is built on compromise to ensure that we all have rewards going forward and that there is no perfect solution that everyone will agree to enact.

Rentmoney's Thoughts On Proposals 239 & 240

Lets start with the importance of voting. If you are staking SPS your vote matters. This is because all the assets in the SPS DAO belongs to you and every other SPS stake holder. Its important to voice your opinion and cast your vote so you have say on where/ when and how those funds/ assets get utilized. Proposal #240: I have so many questions. Admittedly I am far from up to date with all things Splinterlands but this proposal as written sounds like the SPS DAO is handing over funds to the participants of failed gaming projects. As presented I don't think this is a good idea at all. I hope I am misunderstanding this somehow because as it stands 92% are for this passing. Don't get me wrong I am all for helping those on the blunt end of a sinking ship or otherwise. I believe there is better ways than simply handing funds over.

I suggest that it would be much more wiser to offer such people help not by passing them funds but instead setting up a ready to play Splinterlands account for them. Which would be a great on-boarding strategy while giving them a chance to bring themselves back to whole again. We get to help others who's assets tanked while increasing our own player pool. Maybe that is exactly what is going on and I'm missing something but I don't see how simply handing funds over to those who's assets tanked in other games is beneficial other than a momentarily feel-good. I would also suggest that they have to play X amount of ranked play before their given assets are "fully released". Meaning they shouldn't be able to sell the given assets until they roll over the required amount of rank battles. Proposal #239: Heck Yeah, lets adjust and assure ourselves further months of runway. The adjustment can be debated. I doubt we get a full agreement on what adjustment is best but I'm all for any adjustment at all. Have you voted? Will You Vote? Opinions? What Is A Proposal?

A proposal is a suggestion to change something in the Splinterlands game or ecosystem. Players with staked SPS can vote for or against these proposals. Each staked SPS token will be worth one vote, so the more SPS tokens a player has staked, the more they will be able to influence the results of the votes.

What Is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a #play2earn game hosted on the Hive Blockchain. Assets that have real monetary value are used to earn rewards/ more assets in a robust gaming economy.
