Getting my butt kicked in Foundation Ranked Play

Rentmoney has been having all sorts of fun re-entering ranked play. Not just any ranked play but Foundation mode. I was wise to my re-entry of ranked play. First I dabbled in the card market purchasing some of the very affordable Foundation cards. I also purchased a pack or two. Side Note: opening one of my very first foundation packs I flipped a gold Archon (I still call them Summoners). I kicked some A$$ in campaign mode which we highly recommend you play if you haven't yet. Full of over-confidence I head to the Foundation battle-field. Cards won in Campaign mode are of the Foundation set and are playable in Foundation mode and Modern Mode. Lets just say I highly underestimated the player-field. Don't get me wrong; I know the Splinterlands gamers aren't easy to beat but currently I'm getting crushed. Take a look at these stats. 35 Victories / 50 Defeats: that's a 41.18 win-rate (Yikes). The solution is an easy one. I need more power (insert the Tim the tool mans grunt here). I been purchasing some Foundation cards here n there but after getting crushed in Foundation ranked play I decided leveling cards is going to happen sooner rather than later. I purchased a second Gold Foil summoner so that now makes two. After purchase I quickly realized that I'm simply going to start maxing a set of Foundation cards. I now have to contemplate if I want them to be GOLD or REGULAR foil.

Intermission: I'm still moving forward with my poker journey. I'll likely be playing daily. It mixes well with my Hive related actions as playing poker is as easy as having an extra tab open. As I type this my bankroll has increased to $2.60 USD. No deposits were made. I had a small cash in a tournament for $1.81. The remainder $1.79 was won in a Sit-N-Go. I have a tournament starting in roughly 15 minutes (I'm creating this post in real-time). I'm not sure how it will go but I am sure I'll be back to creating this post after the tournament ends to let you all know. One hour later: I'm sitting with 20 Big Blinds and made it to the first break. *15 minutes later; I steal a few blinds and have a stack of chips nearing 25 Big Blinds. I lose a small pot that drops me back to 20 Big Blinds. I pick up AQ. There is an UTG min raise and a re-raise. I jam all in and am called by QQ. I am sent to the rails. I think this tournament was my first blunder while playing. While it wasn't a horrible play under the table dynamics I was participating in I should have been able to find a fold pre-flop with my AQ and found a better spot to shove with. That's it for my poker games for today but there is always tomorrow.

Incessant Sage Lore
As found on Splinterlands
Deep in the Blackmoor Basin, Oru was raised in a parliament of wood owlkin who revered age, wisdom, and the strength to defend their forest. From an early age, he saw knowledge not as something to be hoarded, but shared. Endlessly. Enthusiastically. Whether you wanted it or not.
He memorized every scroll in the library, then performed dramatic recitations to passersby. He’d climb trees and perch on high branches, shouting linguistic corrections at traveling merchants. He lectured owlets on topics they were too young to understand. The elders, ever diplomatic, called him “gifted” and “full of promise.” But when he declared his intention to bring his wisdom to the wider world, they were quick to give him extra supplies and hurry him along on his journey. Many walked him to the forest’s edge, just to be sure he’d go. They waved. Some cheered.
Oru beamed with pride.
He wandered north and east until he reached the Albahoo in the Northern Highlands, a parliament of scholars who pursue quiet enlightenment. By his own measure, he fit in immediately. By the measure of the Albahoo? That’s a different story.
Now, he studies by moonlight, gives lectures during meditations, and considers silence a problem to be solved. He travels a lot, too, chasing forgotten lore and interrupting people who look like they need to know things. He once followed a battle mage for three weeks just to finish explaining his taxonomy of bloodlines and races.
He will correct your incantation, mid-sentence, mid-cast, mid-battle. He’s not trying to annoy. He just needs you to learn.

Welcome
You need to get used to it and learn some combo!
That and I need to level some cards.
I also want to level water and death cards, they seem the most solid
Welcome back my friend to the show that never ends...
Fun to see you back in some ranked play. I play the max in Foundations and Modern every day and have trouble consistently winning 50% 🤦 41% isn't a disaster. There's the RNG factor and then there are people with decks that just outclass you. Only the stupid losses bother me. Like you mis-read the match rules and put up a bad team.
I can only imagine the amount of times this has happened to everyone.
Me too !LOL
It's an interesting take on things tho right? And im due for a post bro, its been 2 DAYS haha. Either I cook or I don't, but you been on a good streak man, keep it up.
!PIZZA
I maxed a few cards and am going to hit the battle-field in a few. Hopefully with some better results but its all in fun regardless. I have been checking your blog and figured you were due for a post :) Can't wait to see what it is. That pond still frozen?
Man, working too much, trying to focus harder there, that's the 1 thing I can't afford to eff up lol. Always appreciate your support man, its cool to help each other level up, there's quite a few of us here. I might try a video of me jamming or singing later, peace for now Rent, keep slayin the battlefield.

41.18% win rate is a good start to learn the techniques being used by other players
