HoloZing - Upcoming Partnership?

Time flies! We are about 11 months into the claimdrop of ZING! How's everyone doing?

It's time for another monthly update and coincidentally, there has been some fresh announcements! The link is here.

As usual, there were some updates about the progress about the game, but what caught my attention was this:

@zingtoken voting changes
Up to this moment the @zingtoken account has mainly voted on posts within the Holozing community while placing overlap voting power on @hbd.funder comments. This will slightly change moving forward in preparation for a partnership announcement yet to be made. We will be casting some additional votes on exceptional posts nominated by curators in the Hive Gaming community.

I wonder what partnership it will be. As usual, the best guess is probably Splinterlands, given the popularity of the game on the Hive Gaming community. But I could be wrong. So let's wait and see!

As for the rewards, the APR for Staking has come down slightly from 27% to 22% and the APR for HP Delegation also went down from 17% to 14%. Still pretty decent numbers.

Over the past month, I have been pretty much holding on to my ZING and accumulating more through the APRs from HP Delegation and Staking. With that, my current holdings of ZING have increased from 8,326 a month ago to 8,526 currently.

As for myself, I have separated my holdings in two separate slices.

Delegation

For the delegation slice, I have delegated 100 HP to @zingtoken all the way since the claimdrop started on 21 Oct. From HP delegation and staking ZING, I have obtained a total of about 2,921 ZING, of which, I have sold 1,700 ZING at around 0.0074 Hive on average. Hence, I am left with about 1,221 ZING.

So let's put them into a table and see how the figures look like.

On a base of 100 HP, that's close to 16% ROI over about 11 months. If we were to annualise this figure, which isn't that meaningful (but purely for the purpose of generating an APR number), that's 17% APR.

Of course, the numbers will fluctuate wildly, especially with the steady increase in the HP delegation to @zingtoken.

Trading/Holding

For the trading slice, I have currently about 7,305 ZING, with 3,000+ ZING staked to get the staking APR and 4,000 ZING currently in liquid for flexibility. With the averaging down at current levels, the cost of this trading slice came up about to about 54 Hive, and based on the last price, they are worth about 19 Hive.

What's next for me?

I think the crypto ecosystem, even in the Hive ecosystem, is very competitive. Lots of opportunities appear every now and then, and people often jump from one project to next, so the lack of updates has really hurt the price of ZING. Personally, I don't think it's much of a concern for me, I will still looking for opportunities to buy (low) and sell (high), and at the same time, keep some ZING for the eventual launch of the HoloZing game, whenever it will be.

The price of ZING is something that I would watch very closely. As for the game development, I have already done my favourites/follows so I will continue to read them as they come.

So back to the question, is it time to buy or sell ZING? You have to decide for yourself. Haha!
