Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Everyone Uses Quora Towershead :(

Time flies! Just completed the 155th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 6th!!

So for the final result, we were 6th out of 9 guilds and got 485 Merits and around 13 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! Decent finish! Was let down my participation this time. Sometimes I wonder how many people are playing Splinterlands these days.

Individually, I had 6 fights this time and I won 5 of them this time! Finished 3rd within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there were 2 additional wins for me.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Chimney Wallstop

Just 4 cards allowed for this battle! I filled up the best cards I could find, and even though my opponent had better cards than me, I outmuscled my way through and punched above my weight. Awesome win! Super satisfying!

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

A nasty Poison and Earthquake ruleset and my opponent chose to field that dreaded Quora Towershead. I almost thought I didn't have a chance but Forgotten One was able to outlast the self healing Quora Towershead and yes we scored another surprising win!

Battle 3 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

Not another Quora Towershead! Everyone is just fielding her by default these days. Grr. Wasn't able to manage her this time round and I just resigned myself to a defeat here.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Isgald Vorst

This was an intense battle. Both teams fielded comparable lineups and Gladius cards were having a fun day clocking Bloodlusts because of the Rebirth ruleset. In the end, Relenor Cleaver faced off with the opposing Gladius card and both neutralised each other. I guess what made the difference was I fielded 2 Gladius card and just when things were pretty even, Isgald Vorst managed to secure the win towards the end.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Oh my! I got super lucky in this one! I was down to Gargoya Devil and my opponent missed 3 hits in a row and Earthquake gave me the win! I was definitely nowhere to winning this after my opponent cleverly used Martyr cards to boost two of their Gladius cards and there's Rebirth ruleset as well. Fortunately, I fielded many Flying cards which allowed me to stay within the battle and continued to have a fighting chance.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Equaliser rulesets are the best for cards like Ever Hungry Skull. As expected, the 7 Armor was just so tanky in this low mana fight and it was enough to see through the win comfortably.

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! 83% win rate this time round! Or 100% if excluding battles against Quora Towershead. Lol!
