Mobile phones are necessary for us; nowadays, even a feature phone is not enough for us. We need a smartphone because it helps us to do various tasks and also to keep us connected with the world through social media applications. I use 2 phones, one smartphone, and one feature phone, and Jio is a mobile telecom company. Jio is a leading mobile telecom company in India and they provide four 4G and 5G services across the country.

I use prepaid service and generally, I do the recharge for a month and sometimes for a quarter if there is any good offer available. Yesterday I read a news article in which it was shared that the telecom companies in India have announced for terrifying which will be effective from 3rd July. My current plan is active and still valid for another month but I thought of recharging for a long term so that I can avail the benefits at a lower price. This is because there is no point paying more when there is an option to avail of the services at a lower price.

This increase is going to be between 12-25% and this is a big rise on the plans and it will affect the users. Looks like the telecom companies are trying to increase their profits even more by this price hike as all the companies are going to do this. Currently, three telecom companies are operating in India and two are providing 5G services but there is one company called Vi that is providing 4G services as of now. They are also planning to launch their 5G services soon and this is why their user base is not so big as compared to the other players. Jio is the biggest company in India with the highest number of users and this is because they are offering is vast.

I have paid INR 2545 through Amazon Pay and this is a 336-day plan. This is a smartphone plan and now I need not worry about it for almost a year because my current plan is still valued for a month. I'm happy that I did buy this plan before the price rise and I should be able to save some money on this expense at least for once.

Mobile phone bills are set to increase as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have announced significant tariff hikes. Jio revealed a 12-25% increase on Thursday, followed by Airtel's announcement of price hikes on Friday. This marks the first major rate increase by a telco since 2021, aimed at boosting average revenue per user (ARPU) due to the high investments in 5G services.

This price rise is happening because the companies have invested a lot in the 5G services and now through this price increase they are trying to cover the fair cost. After all, ultimately these companies need to be on profits. India is one of the countries where data prices are quite low and now since they are offering 5G data services it's fine for them to have more funds as part of profit so that they can continue to innovate.

This is the first time I have taken this type of action before the price increase and I am happy that I did it on time. I use Amazon Pay and through this, I did this recharge and the entire process was super easy and did not even take more than a minute. Although the recharge can be done through the official website and application also I'm more comfortable using Amazon Pay so I have done it through Amazon. If you are in India then you must pay attention to this news because all the companies are going to increase the price and you will be affected for sure. If you want to save some money then you should act now else after three days you'll have to pay the new price which will be with an increase.
