A useful discussion took place about holding tokenized gold/silver onchain
Most conversations focus on convenience first, which is fair
Own gold. Move it instantly. Use it in DeFi. No vault visits. No paperwork. No bullshit

That part is genuinely sick
The aspect often skipped is trust
Ultimately, holding tokenized gold requires believing the physical metal actually exists somewhere
Physical metal. Physically held by the issuer

That's where this either succeeds or completely falls apart
So the real question isn't "is tokenized gold cool?" it's "how can the gold be verified as actually there?"
This is where RWAs must be far more transparent

Imagine if tokenized commodity issuers did things like
live cameras in the vault
weekly photos or videos of the bars
serial numbers publicly listed
third-party audits that can be verified

clear redemption rules that aren't buried in legal nonsense
basically… receipts
Convenience without proof is just faith, and faith is how people get fucked

Not opposed to tokenized commodities at all; they can be one of the most powerful RWA use cases
But the bar for transparency needs to be much higher than it is today

If trust in digital gold is desired, show the gold. Don't just say it. Prove it
