Hoppers I encounter at my location are so shy - never let me come closer than 30-40 cm, and run away like crazy when I move any closer. Lucky you!

It's been a long time since I had a hopper sit on my palm, and I was actually surprised this one didn't mind 😂!LOLZ

You're right. Some hoppers do not like people getting close to them. They think they might be harmed that's why they do so.
