The Image of God according to the Bible - MCGI TOPIC. Review.
Hello everyone and a happy weekend to you all.
Am glad to be here and to share with you an exciting message of Bro Eli.
This message is full of wisdom and truth.
The Image of God according to the bible
It is necessary and important for us to know and to understand the meaning of what was written in the bible about God creating us in his image.
When God said that,he wasn't talking about the physical likeness or a figurative likeness.
Many people have misconception about this verse, they thing God has two legs and two hands, probably blood runing through his veins just like we humans are.
But this great teachings from Bro Eli has simplified the truth by biblical evidence for us to know that God is a spirit.
John 4:24 (KJV) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
This verse has clearly stated that God is a spirit ,so in this message, when God said let us make man after our own likeness or image
God was referring to his personality in righteousness and in holiness
Genesis 1:26 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Since our heavenly father is a spirit it was the spiritual aspect he was referring to.
That was exactly what God did,he created us in his likeness, for us to be holy, righteous and perfect.
Genesis 1:31 (KJV) And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
For indeed we were perfect and good during Creation, but sin came in and Adam fell to sin and we all fell short of his glory.
Man's real problem right from time has been the lust of invention.
Ecclesiastes 7:29 (KJV) Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
I thank God for the gift of his son, Jesus because he came to reconciled us back to God and to restore our lost image in God.
