Hello BDCommunity friends, may God always bless us all. Greetings to all stakeholders in this beloved community.

When I went to a village to deliver an order, I parked my vehicle at one of the residents' homes. Something drew me to the yard, so I took a look around.

What drew me to this home was the variety of plants planted in this yard. While their yard isn't particularly large, it can't even be called a garden, they've made good use of it.

It turns out you don't need a large yard or garden to grow plants, even trees. From this homeowner, I learned that if you have a desire, you'll always find a way to achieve your goals.

Within the existing yard, the homeowner has planted passion fruit, guava trees, and coffee plants. Because we live in a highland with cool air, even coffee plants can thrive in the yard.

Plants like guava, passion fruit, and coffee trees typically require a large area to thrive. Despite this, the plants here appear to thrive, even with simple care.

The most important thing is to fertilize them with organic fertilizer, often derived from chicken and duck manure. Watering is also necessary in the morning, as the air in this area becomes dewy and cool by late afternoon, eliminating the need for afternoon watering.

The passion fruit is planted alongside the trees using a hanging system. A rectangular wooden structure is built high to support the passion fruit. Because passion fruit is a climbing plant and grows with many branches, this hanging planting system with wooden supports helps it grow freely and bear fruit quickly.

This passion fruit plant has already borne fruit, but its color is still bright green, indicating that the fruit is not yet ripe. Numerous flowers and fruit grow down each branch, and the wooden support is taller than where I am standing.

Passion fruit planted in the yard makes the yard look more beautiful, green and cool, moreover the fruit is also useful and can be eaten. Meanwhile, the guava plant that grows here does not have many branches, it seems that it has been pruned so that it does not spread and does not make it into a bush.

Guava has white fruit, we call it water guava, has a high water content with a distinctive sweet and sour taste. They grow in abundance on each stem, even though their branches have been cut, they don't grow too high, so I can pick them directly without needing to use wood or other hooks.

In the front yard of the house, I see about five coffee trees growing full of leaves and coffee berries. If I pay attention, this coffee tree is not cared for, this can be seen from the number of branches that grow so much and the bushes on the trunk.

Growing too many branches on a coffee tree can inhibit the growth of flowers and coffee berries, resulting in the coffee berries not growing as much. Maybe this coffee tree needs to prune the branches that cover the growth of the coffee flowers.

However, despite this, the coffee cherries growing on this tree still appear to be abundant; almost every branch bears fruit, each green and red. At this size, the coffee cherries are ready to be picked and sold. A small number of stems and a single can of coffee cherries could fetch up to IDR 300,000, if sold.

Coffee grown in a yard, if properly cared for, not only adds beauty to the yard but can also be a source of income. In fact, with proper care, any type of plant planted in a yard will produce valuable crops and become a source of income. Even if your yard is small, by utilizing your yard as a living planting area, something worthless can become something of value.
