3Speak Issues .:. #MyHiveGoals 2023
At first sight, it does look like I was too lazy during the week as I have created only 3 posts while the reality wasn't like that... It was super busy the last 7 days, we had a huge #HHHLive show on Wednesday, and those things were time-consuming... Not just prepare the show, but also prepare the recap post, edit the video, convert it a few times, and in the end, 3Speak issues on the day of publishing (and the day after) add another level of stress on the top... As much as I wanted to publish that recap show ASAP, as I did the description earlier than usual, and distributed tokens, the upload failed 5-6 times, and it took over 6 hours to be published... Instead of being earlier, it was online later than ever! 😞
The show itself was huge, Hispano communities are awesome, with so many fantastic active users, and when the show recordings were finally up, I was glad to see people re-watching it and leaving positive comments... After maybe 12 hours, another issue hit 3Speak when videos didn't work and people were unable to watch them... 🤦 In my opinion, it took way too much for devs to fix the issue and that awesome video lost a lot of viewers... We can't afford this type of downtime for our main video platform! I like 3Speak, I'm using it regularly, not just on this blog, but also on @liotes, and I like the vision behind it... But, these "small" outages have to be fixed much, much faster... I know that problems can occur, but if they are fixed fast, the damage isn't that big...

Again, don't get me wrong, this isn't a f-off rant, it is a call for help rant... I don't know what kind of issue was these 2 times, but they are very similar to what they were before... If the solution is simple like rebooting, re-starting a script, or such, hire another person, or create a monitoring solution... This work can be done even by a "non-coder" person, and it would mean a lot! Not just for 3Speak and Hivians, but also for the team's credibility in future works, too!!!
I would send a message to the 3Speak team... Share your issues with other Hivians, I bet that they would be happy to help if they can... Do you need more encoding nodes, do you need people who would monitor the system and do these "small, maintenance" tasks, DECENTRALIZE your "coding power"! I bet that together, we can make the 3Speak video uploading and reproduction experience much better!

Honestly, these issues with 3Speak demotivated me a bit and that was one of the reasons for skipping creating more content... I was stressing about it (without the reason as I couldn't change, or help with fixing the issue) and my productivity fell off the cliff... I hope I will climb back soon... :)
In the last report, I said that I would have to change gears with my HivePower accumulation, and I did (except for content creation 🙂)... I went over 78K and shrunk the gap to this year's goal of 79K! In the last 7 days, I have added 470 HP to my goal and I'm now 858 HP far away from reaching it!
Regarding the LEO Power goal, this week was tough for accumulation... As we had another LeoPUD, everyone was on the market buying tokens to participate in the contest... My approach is I'm more about steady accumulation, without FOMOing, so I was on the sidelines most of the week waiting for to market to slow down... When FOMO finished, the price pulled back and some of my buy orders were filled...
As curation rewards are relatively low, most of my tokens this week came from the market buys, and I have added 258 LEO tokens to my stake... I hit the 23K milestone, and I'm less than 2K away from my yearly goal... I'm still not giving up!!!
GAMING GOALS - Flexible Goals
My Rising Star goal is getting closer and closer to being filled! I think that in the next 7 days, I will reach it as I don't plan to stop opening those packs, especially with this Christmas mission with a special card... 😃
In the last 7 days, another 177 cards were added to my collection and I'm only 118 NFT away from my goal... Next week, we are celebrating reaching this goal!! Can't wait to see another row colored GREEN!
Nothing new regarding my GLX tokens goal... There was a rumor about a big whale selling GLX tokens, but I didn't react to that FUD at all... This makes me very proud of the discipline and patience that I grew in the last bear market... A few years ago, I would panic, trying to sell my bags to not lose money, and lose my good entry for the token... If you have similar problems, just create a plan, and STICK TO your rules!!! It will pay off, believe me...

That's true... I forgot to mention one unpleasant event that did take almost a half day this week...
It is a shame to see these recurring issues with 3speak, I hope the team can get on top of them as for me 3speak in its current form is unusable. I hope you get back in your posting rhythm next week, keep up the good work toward your year end goals! Just a couple of weeks to go!
Yeah, only two weeks more! This year passed very fast, but it was a good one... But the next one will be even better!!
We are so early in this growing ecosystem that we will be the ones who can later say "3speak used to be way harder platfrom to use back in my days" xD
Hehehe... We are saying that for HIVE as it was way harder before... 😃 I hope that 3Speak will stick as I do like the vision behind it...
I am so sure the team will be working on that issue so that it doesn't repeat itself again next year starting

The issues are everywhere not only on 3speak. That's decentralized world, not yet 100% developed. Regarding 3speak I can only tell that's much better then DTube. I uploaded there more than 500 videos there and all disappeared. Also, video is much more heavy and complex to store on IPFS than text or pics.
I do not doubt that it's better than Dtube... It is a huge step forward from it... 3Speak's problems are mostly of a centralized nature, so when they/we find a way to decentralize it, the issues will be fixed...
Like I said, I like the vision behind 3Speak and I hope that we can help in realization of it!

I didn't even realize that 3speak was down for 12 hours. Then again, 3speak is a fairly small team. So I don't think there is much we can do about the downtime.

I look at Rising Star as a game and I have very little (monetary) benefits from it... I re-invest all my earnings back into the game for packs, and sometimes for buying EPICs that I don't have...
So, if I would start playing now, I'm not sure if I would INVEST money from the outside... Maybe the token value will go up in the bull market, maybe not... As I don't care too much about that, it's irrelevant for me...
I started buying RS 2 years ago, and then I quit because the earnings for doing missions are negligible, but I see several people who are buying, more packs and cards now at these low prices and that's why I wonder if you trust that it will improve the game, the player base, or is it simply in case the miracle happens and everything goes up again... I also couldn't help myself and bought about 50 epics, just in case😜

I met the creator of the game (Jux) at HiveFest in Amsterdam and he is a genuine guy... But, even he can't guarantee you about the market conditions, prices, etc... I know that he is a hard-working guy, but I don't have a crystal ball to predict the future... ;)

the price doesn't worry me, and since you knew him personally and are still in the project says a lot, I've been in Hive for 2 years, but mainly in Splinterlands, watching it collapse these 2 years, with an extreme hyper card inflation, now I'm interested in increasing my HPOWER, and other games like GOLEM, and delegation projects like ZING and This Is Awesome, where you delegate your HP, but keep your HIVE, thank you friend for your time😎

I myself have been using it for a long time and I upload my video through this Ecency, after uploading the video five times it uploads and takes a lot of time in encoding.
Yeah, it was like that when I did my Show recap video... As I can see, they fixed it and it works fine now...
