Cine TV CONTEST: THE LION KING
Good day to everyone in this highly esteemed community. When I saw this week's contest title, the first thing that came to my mind was Lion King. I cannot talk about Disney movies without mentioning the Lion King. This movie remains forever stuck in my heart. As a kid back then, it was one of my all-time favorites and even till now. This movie is a legendary one that left a great mark on us all. If you have seen this movie you would agree with me that it is one of the best Disney has ever made. I particularly love the Disney animated version more than the recent real version of the movie. After all, it was the cartoon version I watched endlessly when I was a kid.
MOVIE PLOT
The Lion King is an interesting movie that focuses on the adventures of a young cub, Simba, who is pursued from his home by his uncle, Scar, after the death of his father, Mufassa, the king. The young cub, afraid of his uncle, flees from home and faces a whole new adventure in life on his own, as he learns how to navigate through life without his father or mother or family. He meets Timon and Pumbaa during his exile, and they become great friends that motivate and eventually help him claim back his throne as the rightful heir of his pride.
One unique and significant thing about The Lion King is how it perfectly captures the beautiful scenery of the African Savanna, taking us to a whole different setting altogether. Every part of the movie screams Africa. It portrays the beautiful wildlife that is found in the African Savanna with so much accuracy and truth. Also, it is breathtaking to see how each action, display of emotion and movement are done with such authenticity and originality one might think this movie was indeed a real life scenario. The capacity to which they paid attention to detail was truly impressive, bringing a high level of realism to the film.
One loveable thing that kept me quite engaged throughout this timeless animated Disney movie would be these two characters, Timon and Pumbaa.
These two characters played their part really well in keeping the comedic aspect of this movie alive and flourishing. And of course, I must hand it to Scar. The role he played as the villain of the story was quite enrapturing. I truly believe this movie would not have been as good as it was if Scar, our dear villain, did not play such a good role. Especially when combined with the beautiful soundtrack “Be prepared”.
My review would be incomplete without the mention of the various musical soundtracks that contributed to making this movie an all-time favorite. From the famous “Circle of Life" song, the "Hakuna Matata” song, “I just can't wait to be king" song to the “Can you feel the love tonight" song all contribute to the excitement and thrill you get from the movie.
In all, the Lion King is an unforgettable Disney animated masterpiece, one that forever holds a special place in my heart. With its valuable lessons about family, jealousy, friendship, courage and a lot more, it remains my favorite Disney movie.

"Hakuna matata"
It was because of this Hakuna matata that made me to watch the movie, after a song by a Nigerian artist was released with the title.
