PAY UP YOUR DEBT ðŸ˜
I wonder how people go about their daily lives, knowing fully well that are indebted to people.
These days, it's becoming hard to really help people because the few that were genuinely helped took it for granted.
Some people are becoming more heartless as the days go by. People no longer see the need to pay their debts, even when they have the means to do so.
Sometime last year, a former colleague asked me to lend her some money. At first, I was a bit reluctant because, before now, I had promised myself never to borrow anyone money I couldn't let go of. This was because of the hurt I had in the past. But she pleaded with me that she wanted to pay for a federal government job (here in Nigeria, you pay to get a job). And promised she was going to pay it back within 4 months. After much persuasion, I succumbed to her bid. Even after the 4-month period had passed, I didn't ask her for my money. Sometime in May this year, after a year of lending the money to her, I asked her for my money, and this was the conversation that took place between us.
her: I haven't gotten the job yet; when I get the job, I will pay you back.
me: But that was not what you said when you came to meet me; you said you were going to pay within four months, and it's been a year already.
her: Where do you expect me to get that amount of money from, with the way things are in Nigeria?
I ended the call that day and called her back yesterday, and this lady started shouting at me that I should stop disturbing her because of a small amount of money.
This morning, another former colleague of mine called me and asked what happened between me and the other lady. That the lady has been saying a lot of negative things about me in their office.
This and more are the reasons why people don't like helping; there are a lot of ingrates everywhere. They are most humble when asking for the loan, immediately your money gets into their hands, the beast in them suddenly awake from its slumber and gets unleashed on you.
Some unfavorable experiences usually make us shy from borrowing other people money. Like you pointed out, some people are just heartless
Seriously some people are really heartless and I think this is the last time I will ever lend money to someone else. It's painful and sad.
Sorry about that, hopefully there would be those worth your trust
Yay! 🤗

Yeah sadly I know that it’s not a good idea to lend money to people. We’ve been asked a few times but it’s usually not a good situation and you likely never see the money back again. I would just take it as a lesson sadly and move on, knowing that this one lady ruined the experience for others.
True, it's a sad lesson that I have learnt and I don't have other choice other than to move on. Thank you
