How do you explain FOMO to a Newbie
Question from a Newbie Today:
Please the word "FOMO (fear of missing out)" Who can help me elaborate more on it?
When I saw the question in one of the crypto discord groups I belong to, I could not help but go into my full teacher mood within a few minutes to help the newbie understand the meaning of what he asked, first of all, the word FOMO is simple what it is, "the Fear of missing out". That is the simple explanation But for the newbie I had to explain with an example for him to understand what FOMO is perfectly.
For Example: When there is not too much noise on a particular token either a new project or an old project that is developing and improving their utility. let us say there is a token that was priced at $3 or $2 and all of a sudden that token moved or pumped up to $7 to 15. Tokens like the likes of TIA and ARB the people being to shout the ARB to hit $20 or TIA to hit $30. And out of fear, you react to the noise and panic buy based on fear of missing out and greed (fear and greed) to make money from the noise, boom you just into buying the noise of any token without doing research to know why the token was flying.
To be safe and keep your money safe, you do not jump blindly and head first into any project or trade because of the fear that you will or might miss out on the coins pump. You have to make your decision thinking straight not emotionally, you have to make your decision based on the fundamentals and utility of that token, you do still need to do your Technical analysis to see if you can get any potential pump hint, because you do not know if the people shouting maybe ARB to $20 or TIA to $30 are the people that bought it at a very discounted price and now they wants to dump it on people by making it popular on social media so to attract newbies or people who do not know what is going.
It is not every noise that you buy or sell listen and research before you jump in, always remember when people rush and start buying the coin the price will have an impulsive move, then appreciate in value taken them that bought at a very discounted price level into massive profits and what happens next? They dump it on the innocent new investors.

This was almost my case when I was new with cryptocurrency but now I'm used with the way people judge a particular cryptocurrency whether new or old.
