1K Power-Up: LPUD Movement

Growing my Hive account has been one of my top priorities lately and for a long time now. I have been very intentional with building my stake, but my attention has been mostly fixed on my Hive Power. Today, however, I participated in the Leo Power Up Day.

I was going to narrow down all my energy and effort to just HP and HBD Savings, but with the massive and impressive developments and changes in Leofinance, I thought to show support to the ecosystem in a little way—by powering up some of the native token, LEO.

Leofinance has been rebranded, which you should have heard about by now. It is now InLeo. So, just like we'd say X (formerly Twitter), we'd say InLeo (formerly Leofinance). The community is now geared to be an all-inclusive space, and so the team thought to have a brand that represents that rather than "scare people away with the term 'finance' attached," according to Khal. Brilliant is what I'd call the rebranding.

There are pretty interesting things going on in InLeo. The fascinating prospects of Hive that I read in their article about the vision of InLeo is one of the reasons I am on this train with them. For one, their insights into how the LeoAds would be beneficial to the ecosystem and LEO stakeholders inspired me to start getting serious about building my LP as well. It's subtle yet powerful.

You should stick around InLeo more if you aren't much of a regular user and see the amazing things going on there. Soon enough, there would be something like what we have on X, but it would be called the orange checkmark. That sounds pretty cool, and it does come with added benefits that would make doing things on the chain a little more exciting and productive.

The orange checkmark would cost some $$$ every month, of course, just like on X. But what I like about the idea is that it provides some permanent liquidity that would only keep growing since there would be monthly buying pressure. That's something that is really good for the ecosystem, and I am very interested in being a partaker of such effective development.

Moving on to my Leo Power (LP). I had been planning for a long time, and so I had been stacking on LEO as much as I could. I would say that I sort of expected a quest on the ongoing Hive Zealy campaign, and so it was part of the reason I wanted to participate in today's Leo Power Up Day (LPUD), but I was more interested in being a part of the ecosystem.

One thousand LEO is what I stacked up, and then a few hours after UTC + 0—to be sure that I wasn't doing it at the wrong time—I powered up all of that. To be more specific, I actually powered up 1,001 LEO—to take my 99 LP to 1,100 LP. Bougie, innit?

It did feel good to do that, especially for someone person that didn't have anything staked prior. Next month, I'll participate again. I am not sure how much next time, but anything significant to add to my LP would be good enough. For now, we'll celebrate the little win of today.
