Not Trusting My Government With Child Regulations

It might interest you to know that my country (Nigeria) is currently among the top 4 most populated country in the world, and over the last 10 years, my country's population has grown from around 179,379,010 to a figure not less than 229,152,200. But is this really the cause of our economical challenges today? The answer is no for me.
I have heard stories of countries who decided to regulate the birth rate of their citizens, and they stipulated that if by any means a citizens gives birth to children above the government approved number that citizen would have to face the punishment of the government. Sometimes it might be that after giving birth to two kids, you would be medically castrate from giving birth ever again.
I still remembered when my senior brother told me that at one time the government of China customized a brand of belt and promoted it in the market for their male citizens. According to his story, this was a way by the government to regulate their population because any man who continues using the belt wouldn't be able to impregnate a woman for a while.
For so many reasons I seriously do not believe any form of birth regulations would work in my country (Nigeria). The reason why most countries opted for the idea of birth regulations was because of the plans they have for the future of their economy.
It would be more beneficial to us if the government of my country would forsake the ways of corruption and rather invest the abundance of natural resources we are blessed with. Nigeria is not called the giant of Africa for nothing, we are called so because even with our large population and corrupt leaders, we are still surviving and thrilling as the richest economy in Africa. What then would have been the case, if our leaders were not corrupted.
A country that needs such birth regulations is a country that have calculated and concluded that their food supply chain isn't reliable and can not accommodate alot of people. That country is certainly not Nigeria because we have enough lands to both farm and house as many millions of people as possible.
Because of the nature of my job I have been opportuned to travel to almost every state in my country and I can confidently say Nigeria is one of the biggest country in the world when it comes to land mass. Especially here in Borno state where I have stayed for over 2 years and the yet I have not touched 1 quarter of the state even though I visit new place almost every week.
In other cases, most of the countries that adopt the idea of birth control are usually concerned about the allocation of resources and how every citizen should have a better and a more secured life. But even though the government of my country promises us that we would have a good life if we adopt the childbirth regulation, we would not even believe them because we do not trust them.

So the regulation of child birth in Nigeria is not what the future economy needs, instead the government should stop being corrupt and everything would fall in place. How can we trust our future to a government that embezzles public funds and come out to the media to tell us that it was a snake that swallowed it?
I appreciate your time around here❤️:-)
It is a fact that if the government does not take this thing seriously, then the country will never be able to develop a country where there is no ban on having children.
The leaders are the way makers for the future of any nation. It won't be a complete success if the leaders and the citizens are in distrust.
Yeah you are right.
Well I still think the population should be regulated, because a lot of people that can't take care of two children are giving birth to six or seven children, thereby causing problem for the society.
You have made a very interesting point there brother. I view such people as both unwise and wicked because why giving birth to children you can't raise. I
However, if the government do it for the children's sake, then it is absolutely fine, but if the government are doing it for economical growth, then they should think twice.
