Once a year, I feel the need to see this movie again, so today is that day of the year, from the beginning I want to tell you that my opinion about it may be manipulated by the love I have for it, but I will try to be as objective as possible, although I do not promise much. Let's talk about "About time" a 2013 film written and directed by Richard Curtis, in which its main plot revolves around time travel in a quite different way than we are used to with this same theme in some other tapes, so, without further ado, let's start with the review.

The movie starts by showing us the main character named Tim, a boy who at first glance seems to be quite shy, then we are introduced to the rest of his family who seems to be a pretty close family, he has parents who seem to be very much in love, a dear sister named Kit Kat who our beloved protagonist Tim considers to be a pretty cool person and last but not least his uncle Desmond. After this brief introduction to Tim's family, the next thing we see is a New Year's party, where all the people seem to be having a good time except Tim, who just walks around the house and stumbles, goofing off a bit. Tim is left next to a friend and when the clock is about to ring in the new year, everyone seems to be waiting with their partners to start the year with a kiss, as it is a tradition where it is believed that it will attract love all year long.

When the moment arrives, Tim is about to kiss the girl and she also goes for the kiss, but Tim out of shyness (that's what I want to think was the reason) ends up ruining the moment and instead of giving her a kiss ends up shaking her hand, thus creating a very uncomfortable moment for both of them and completing a series of events that made their New Year's Eve a day they don't want to remember.

The next day, without Tim expecting it, his life was about to change forever, his father (with whom Tim has a beautiful relationship) tells him a secret, something that has been in his family for years, a kind of gift that only the men of the family acquire, this gift is none other than to travel in time or, rather, go back in time. His father explains to him that he can only go back to places he has been and remembers from his own life, Tim clearly thinks it is a joke, but still asks how it works, his father explains that he needs to go into a dark place, clench his fists and visualize in his mind the place and time they wish to go back to and that's it, Tim still not considering that it was true, decides to try it and indeed returns to the day before, the New Year's Eve party, where he takes his chance and all the things that went wrong at the party the day before, he performs them differently, so it ends up being an excellent start of the year kissing the girl as he should have done from the beginning the first time.

His father explains everything to him, certain rules, how his life will change from now on and that he should not waste his time going after money or wasting his life, he wants him to do something important, something that will fill his stay on the planet with life, a life worth living and our protagonist is most interested in love. Soon after, he falls in love with a girl named Charlotte who ends up spending her summer vacation at Tim's parents' house, again situations occur where Tim does certain foolish things, he goes back in time and repeats things in a more efficient way and without looking like a fool, when the summer ends, Tim confesses his love to her, Charlotte tells him that he had to tell her from the beginning what he felt for her, he didn't have to wait until the last day because that was never going to work, Tim taking this into account, goes back in time, confessing his feelings for the girl in the middle of the summer, but Charlotte this time tells him that he should wait until the last day of summer to confess his feelings and see what happens between them, that's how our protagonist discovers that even traveling in time you can't make someone love you. So our protagonist becomes independent to start living his life and in search of love, on the way he discovers the dangers of going back in time and the consequences that these can cause.

That's all you need to know if you want to see the movie, which I highly recommend, because although I appreciate that you have decided to read my publication, the real magic of the movie you can feel only if you see it, it is not the same if I tell you the development of the story, so, if you have a free day, you have nothing to see, this movie is your best option, you can watch it alone, with your partner, with your family, with friends, it really adapts to any situation and it is a cinematic gem for its story, everything it transmits and everything it ends up teaching.

The movie is full of comedy, but a comedy that really pleases, it is not forced at all and is very enjoyable, it has moments of pure reflection that make you think about many things once the movie ends, something that I honestly love about a good story, that it can leave you with something that really connects with you and is not just a simple moment of distraction and that's it. The storyline seems to me something very well executed, each of the characters brings the essential to the film and I consider that each of the characters gets a personal development, something that in many films is often overlooked by focusing nothing more on the main characters, but in this story is all very well taken care of.

The amount of emotions that you will live in the course of the movie can be considered as a roller coaster, there will be ups and downs, moments of pure adrenaline, tension and much more... I would really like to tell you much more about the movie but I don't want to ruin the experience of living it for yourselves, but I want to finish by saying that, as I mentioned at the beginning, it is a movie that I see once a year and in all the opportunities I have had to see it, the feeling that it generates in me remains the same, it still leaves me thoughtful and with an idea of living that I consider that no movie has ever touched me as much as this one, learning to value the time we have and learning to really live life and not just live for the sake of living, is the magic that this movie has, so please, give it a chance. For me the rating without fear of what someone may say, is a 10 out of 10, it seems to me a perfect movie, the only flaw it has is that it ends.

Una vez al año, me nace la necesidad de volver a ver esta película, por lo que hoy es ese día del año, desde un principio quiero decirles que mi criterio con respecto a ella puede estar manipulada por el amor que le tengo, pero intentaré ser lo más objetivo posible, aunque no prometo mucho. Hablemos de “Una cuestión de tiempo” una película del año 2013 escrita y dirigida por Richard Curtis, en la cual su trama principal gira entorno a los viajes en el tiempo de una manera bastante distinta a la que estamos acostumbrados con esta misma temática en algunas otras cintas, así que, sin más preámbulos, empecemos con la reseña.

La película comienza mostrándonos al protagonista llamado Tim, un muchacho que a simple vista parece ser bastante tímido, acto seguido nos presentan al resto de su familia que pinta ser una familia bastante unida, tiene unos padres que parecen estar muy enamorados, una querida hermana llamada Kit Kat la cual nuestro querido protagonista Tim considera que es una persona bastante genial y, por último, pero no menos importante, su tío Desmond. Luego de esta breve introducción a la familia de Tim, lo siguiente que vemos es una fiesta de año nuevo, donde todas las personas parecen estar pasando un buen rato excepto Tim, quien simplemente camina por la casa y se tropieza, haciendo un poco el tonto. Tim queda al lado de una amiga y cuando el reloj está por marcar el inicio del año nuevo, todos parecen estar esperando junto a sus parejas para iniciar el año con un beso, puesto que es una tradición donde se tiene la creencia que atraerá el amor todo el año.

Cuando llega el momento, Tim está a punto de besar a la chica y esta también va en busca del beso, pero Tim por timidez (es lo que quiero pensar que fue el motivo) termina arruinando el momento y en vez de darle un beso termina estrechando su mano, creando así un momento bastante incomodo para ambos y completando así una serie de sucesos que hicieron de su noche de fin de año un día que no quiere recordar.

Al día siguiente, sin que Tim se lo esperara, su vida estaba apunto de cambiar para siempre, su padre (con el cual Tim tiene una hermosa relación) le cuenta un secreto, algo que lleva años en su familia, una especie de don a la cual únicamente los hombres de la familia adquieren, este don no es otro más que viajar en el tiempo o, mejor dicho, retroceder en el tiempo. Su padre le explica que sólo puede regresar a lugares en los que estuvo y recuerda de su propia vida, Tim claramente piensa que es una broma, pero aún así pregunta cómo funciona, su padre le explica que necesita entrar en un lugar oscuro, apretar sus puños y visualizar en su mente el sitio y el momento al que desean regresar y es todo, Tim aún sin considerar que fuese cierto, decide probarlo y efectivamente regresa al día anterior, la fiesta de fin de año, donde aprovecha su oportunidad y todas las cosas que le salieron mal en la fiesta el día anterior, las realiza de distinta manera, por lo cual termina siendo un inicio de año excelente besando a la chica como debió hacer desde un principio la primera vez.

Su padre le explica todo, ciertas reglas, el cómo su vida cambiará a partir de ahora y que no pierda su tiempo yendo detrás del dinero o desperdiciando su vida, desea que haga algo importante, algo que llene su estadía en el planeta de vida, una vida que valga la pena vivir y a nuestro protagonista lo que más le interesa es el amor. Al poco tiempo, se enamora de una chica llamada Charlotte que termina pasando sus vacaciones de verano en casa de los padres de Tim, nuevamente ocurren situaciones donde Tim hace ciertas tonterías, regresa en el tiempo y repite las cosas de una manera más eficientes y sin quedar como un tonto, cuando el verano termina, Tim le confiesa su amor, Charlotte le dice que tuvo que contarle desde un principio lo que sentía por ella, no tenía que esperar hasta el último día porque eso nunca iba a funcionar, Tim teniendo esto en cuenta, regresa en el tiempo, confesando sus sentimientos por la chica a mitad del verano, pero Charlotte en esta ocasión le dice que debería esperar hasta el último día de verano para confesarle sus sentimientos y ver qué sucede entre ellos, es así como nuestro protagonista descubre que ni viajando en el tiempo puedes lograr que alguien te ame. Así nuestro protagonista se independiza para empezar a vivir su vida y en busca del amor, en el trayecto descubre los peligros de regresar en el tiempo y las consecuencias que estas pueden ocasionar.

Es todo lo que necesitan saber si desean ver la película, cosa que recomiendo encarecidamente, porque aunque aprecio que hayan decidido leer mi publicación, la verdadera magia de la película la podrán sentir sólo si la ven, no es lo mismo si les cuento el desarrollo de la historia, así que, si tienen un día libre, no tienen nada qué ver, esta película es su mejor opción, pueden verla en solitario, con su pareja, con su familia, con amigos, realmente se adapta a cualquier situación y es una joya cinematográfica por su historia, todo lo que transmite y todo lo que termina enseñando.

La película está llena de comedia, pero una comedia que realmente agrada, no es nada forzado y es muy disfrutable, cuenta con momentos de reflexión pura que te hacen pensar en muchas cosas una vez la película termina, algo que honestamente me encanta de una buena historia, que pueda dejarte algo que realmente conecte contigo y no sea un simple momento de distracción y ya. El hilo argumental me parece algo muy bien ejecutado, cada uno de los personajes aporta lo esencial a la película y considero que cada uno de los personajes obtiene un desarrollo personal, cosa que en muchas películas se suele pasar por alto al centrarse nada más en los personajes principales, pero en esta historia está todo muy bien cuidado.

La cantidad de emociones que vivirás en el transcurso de la película puede ser considerada como una montaña rusa, habrán subidas y bajadas, momentos de adrenalina pura, tensión y mucho más… Realmente me gustaría contarles mucho más de la película pero no quiero arruinarles la experiencia de vivirla por ustedes mismos, pero quiero terminar diciendo que, como al principio mencioné, es una película que veo una vez al año y en todas las oportunidades que he tenido de verla, el sentimiento que me genera sigue siendo el mismo, me sigue dejando pensativo y con una idea del vivir que considero que ninguna película ha calado tanto en mi como esta, el aprender a valorar el tiempo que tenemos y aprender a realmente vivir la vida y no solo vivir por vivir, es la magia que tiene esta película, así que, por favor, denle una oportunidad. Para mí la calificación sin miedo a lo que alguien pueda opinar, es un 10 de 10, me parece una película perfecta, el único defecto que tiene es que termina.
